same with the heads, there are two different castings...
who knows when the transition was, it's odd... makes me wonder if two factories where making them later or something (I'm sure the beefed up block had soemthing to do with type-A racing though...)
I usually agree with suprabad, but use car lots are the worst ripoff artists in the world...
I would have asked him if it came with a warranty, if so BLOW THAT DAMN ENGINE and have it replaced on their dime...
sounds like maybe he has the exhaust hanger that bolts to the cat on upside down or something (or IIRC randy's test pipe had it welded to it?)
downpipe might be hung up on something as well as it has a plex section it will move...
you paid too much for those shoes I'm thinking...
hate when the dealer tries their 250% markup...
he probably stripped the bolts... I've seen it happen on some rust belt cars
yep, duanes tranny was rebuilt before he used it, and the people running the Marlin rebuilt trannies (comes with the heavy duty bearing plate) are having good luck with them.
I agree with IJ here that if it was made of a good billet steel it would probably be fine. BUT if the thrust washer can't be made better (or bigger by machining the gears) and it still breaks, the only solution is really to remove the forces on it... in other words using straight cut gears...
4300K in the headlights and 3000K in the fogs is what I got... made new blinders for the fogs and using Hella E-code housings for the headlights...
I do have an idea though, some of the of the newer cars out now are using LED headlights... you could probably use one of them int he fogs with...
old thread, but why not straight cut gears?
you don't have to put ALL straight cut gears, just first and second (and maybe third would be FINE for street use as you're not in them most of the time...
straight cut gears would eliminate the "thrust" on the thrustwasher, meaning it takes...
did I deny that that's what the LF-S is?
your reading comprehension needs some work.
they need to make a CHEAP LF-A to compete with the 350Z! Jezz people, it's the same reason the F-bodies and the Supra died...THEY GOT TOO EXPENSIVE!
Toyota is finally noticing that they ARE losing a good market share int he performance sector. Look at how serious they got with their new Tundra. With the new Z, skyline, RX, they have to have SOME clue that they are losing this very profitable market (how many 350Z's do you see daily?)...
the OEM manufactures pushed all oils to be better, hence why even your cheapest oil is usually pretty good (you think wal-mart actually makes their own oil??)
They're all good, but some are better than others in the additives. Hell, even Red Line isn't THAT expensive especially since most...
