^ I too would like info on where to get various cams. The speed shops in my area only seem to have 2JZ cams, and they're pushing $800 last I checked. Anyone know where to get actual 1JZ-GTE small core cams? Preferably a reputable shop.
I bought chains for my winter tires 2 years ago. Haven't used them but I like to have them around just in case I encounter something my winter tires can't handle. BTW I winter drive my Supra. I'm leaning towards storing it over winter as I now own an '81 Celica that goes really well in the snow.
Yup, that works as well.
IMO I would just go with what pretty much everyone else is saying. A y-pipe, full 3" exhaust, an air intake and a better front mount intercooler(with hardpipes if you want) will easily get you to 320whp, probably even a little more.
Rebuilding the twins isn't really...
I just went out and got a set of 16" steelies and put really good snow tires on them. No clearance issues on my JZA70 TTR AND the speedo isn't thrown out of whack. win win with 16s.
I get about 400km/tank of gas. Stock gas tank, average driving, good mix of highway/city driving. I got it up to 475km/tank once driving like an old lady.
JDM 440s, full 3" turbo-back exhaust.
That and either a "tuned" ECU; Mine's, Sard, etc. or a boost controller will easily get you a safe 320rwhp at maybe 14psi that you can run hard all day with your current mods IF your motor and twins are in good condition.
I have an "81 Celica GT I am currently driving around in the snow. I'm thinking of making it my winter beater. However, I do drive my JZA70 year-round as it does quite well in the snow with good snow tires. The fact that its quite heavy doesn't do any harm either. Obviously both the cars are...
Cool. You could probably start a small buisness. Offer the option for a bottle opener and make ones from MKI to MKIV. Even other cars if the desire strikes you. The key chains from Toyota break quickly in my experience.
You already have an R154 on the 1J.
All you have to worry about dimension wise is that the overall height of the 2JZ is 1" higher than the 1JZ. So does your hood have another 1" of clearance?
The motor mounts are in the same location on both blocks.
The R154 you have on the car now is a...
