Aussie MKIII chitchat! (all welcome) NWS

Take care of em ;) Vinyl wears faster in my experience, real leather is used for motorcycle gear because of it's abrasion resistance.

    Facime's Mk2 build

Know what works good on cast iron manifolds? Graphite spray lubricant. After the solution burns off, all that's left is the graphite leaving it black and clean. You can't really handle it after that, but touchups are easy...

Aussie MKIII chitchat! (all welcome) NWS

Most people won't notice the difference, but there is one crutial one. Leather if it gets wet doesn't really get slick, while vinyl does. Leather shiftknob and steering wheel wrap kicks ass because of this.

    Parking Brake Cable Replacement

Unbolt from the diff, and unbolt the center bearing, and let it hang down. Don't slide the yoke out of the tranny or you might lose fluid (mine didn't, but I used a yoke from another driveshaft to plug the hole when needed)

How to install new battery terminals?

Most of those suck as they don't get a good connection. Someone had butchered mine, so I got a set of the pre-made ones that aren't very long, got the copper bolt down connector pieces and melted solder in em with a torch, then stuck the cable on the car in them. Bolted the ends of those...

My 1977 7M-GTE CELICA! Finished! Test drive vid on page 18!

Personally I wouldn't cut up the old axle to put the other one in, I'd either find a way to beef up that axle, or find a better solution that might bolt in... I'm sure someone can find a MKI axle...

    Idle issues after disconnecting battery...

It's going back to base maps. The ECU can compensate when things aren't ideal (like if the car isn't in the ideal environment, or some stuff is out of spec), but when it goes back to base it has to relearn. It's normal...
