I used the 2J waterpump/fan setup with the 1J and with the 2J, with the stock radiator and never seemed to have any cooling issues. Although, I did end up with water in the oil on the 2J and think it was a BHG (but I have yet to open it up).

Not to hijack, but if things still hadn't worked out, how hard would it have been to replace the hardlines "end-to-end?"

Dang, sorry to hear about that... I know that with the 1Jand 2J there was very little clearance to work with, with just the stock radiator. I'm considering some elctric fans for my upcoming 2J swap (yes, again;-).... mixed reviews/feelings. Let us know how it turns out.

I know a few.... the speed sensor has got to be one that matches the connectors, as well as the year (ABS/ECT)... Basically, if you have ABS the ECT gets the signal from/through the ABS. I am still dealing with mine and haven't figured it out. Tho I am about to try another ABS computer...

I replaced my 1st one without removing the guage cluster... cut up my arm and it took forever....(gawd I've learned alot since then ;-) Take the cluster out and be done in 30 minutes.

It was already dark tonight, when I tried to trace it. Looks like it goes into a metal tube, which seems to run towards the motor mount, then goes down under the engine (along subframe?). Now I'm really curious... gonna have to F with it tomorrow for sure....
