Here is another case of different tastes.
To me that bumper needs one of two things. Either a line where the bumper and the lip would normally meet or paint the lower part of the lip black to give some visual break. For me there is just too much stuff below the foglights/opening.
But...
The Bomex 3 hole - yep.
I've got a wooden support in there - cut to fit and all sealed up nicely. Been running that setup since 2002.
And I totally agree. So much better without the license plate dimple - also shaved the front badge off the nose.
We announce the dates as early as possible. We totally understand there are people out there that have to bid their vacations as early as Jan 2. We usually try to get the dates announced by the end of the year to give people as much time to prepare as possible.
That said, we are still...
It depends on the water spots. I had spots that were so bad I had to search for something to take them off. I tried everything I could get my hands on until I found the glass polish from Griot's Garage. This stuff is the BOMB! It even makes your glass feel silky smooth like a freshly waxed...
Actually, you will find that the largest part of the population only considers the body (and the fact that it says Mustang etc on the back). Yes, there are performance heads out there that will go for the top level of a particular car but that is NOT the defining part of that car. How many...
Several years back I replaced nearly every hose under the hood and there was no kit - my parts guy had to piece everything together.
Oh yeah... and the HoseTechniques kit is just X # of feet of several different sized hoses. You have to cut to fit.
Your own post brought my reply. It just cheezes me off that so many people have this misunderstanding that for a Supra to be a Supra it must have a turbocharger, and I just wanted to set the record straight.
Just for arguement we'll ignore the MkIs and MkIIs - since those were technically...
Jeff - I hate to burst your bubble but there were actually MORE Non-Turbo Supras made than Turbos. So the "Forced Induction" part is not what made a Supra a Supra.
From 1979 - 1986 there were over 200,000 Supras made - ALL NATURALLY ASPIRATED.
From 1987 - first year of the Turbos - to...
We don't have either here in Oregon. 92 for us - unless I go to Vegas then for some reason Cali and Nevada only have 91. We should sue them saying that they are breaking our cars that need 92 only.
Oh dear lord! Please take that Sarcasm class at school so you can catch these things. I was just pointing out what some people out there would have you believe. I myself have one of the "Poseur" Supras - but at least it isn't a MkIV with its balls chopped off. :)
The Mustangs, Firebirds...
OH $#!T I need to stop buying cars. So far I am 2 - 2 for buying a car and having Toyota discontinue it. First the Supra - I bought it in 96 and Toyota stopped bringing them to the USA after 1998. Then I bought a 2006 Solara and now they say they will kill that after the 2008 model. YIKES...
I was referring to Supras with 2JZ-GEs. I am sure that your 2JZ-GTE #s did not include the other vehicles that came with that particular powerplant. I just wanted to point out the lack of inclusion of a LOT of MkIV Supras in your numbers by only counting the Turbo Version - even though we all...
to kill the gaps... get a bigger intercooler. This will also fix your black/silver issue as they typically come in silver.
I would not paint the IC though. The stocker likely has a special thermal disperssant coating on it to help improve cooling.
Oh yeah... a new IC would also...
Neodeuccio - your logic for the production numbers point is flawed.
7000 2JZ-GTE's in the USA? What about 2JZ-GEs? That would increase that count.
During the same period (93 - 98) Dodge only sold ~6500 Vipers in the USA and Acura only sold ~3000 NSXs (again USA numbers).
You...
That's what they were saying about THIS year. :) Tis all good though. They are a bunch of great guys.
Noel - You're going to do MORE to that thing? I was impressed back in 2005 and then you come out and blow my doors off in 2006. I may need one of those defribulators for 2007 when your...
I'll believe it when I see it. :) Let the official countdown begin. You now have less than a year to get ready to show the world what this "mythical" 1J can do.
This attitude does not help get all Supras treated fairly. You never know what you are missing. I've had a lot of ideas sparked by looking at the other generations - and even other cars in general.
I am still working on getting the official pictures online. I finally got them off my laptop...
