    Crazy Power Steering PROBLEM

I had lost all power steering (very hard to turn wheels). Cleaned out reservoir, replaced solenoid, etc. Now seems to be little power steering, but still no PPS. Meaning, the wheels are hard to turn when standing still, but not as hard as it was before I changed the solenoid out. Fluid...

    wiring in progressive power steering

Thanks ...replaced the solenoid and soldered in the new wiring. Has improved, but still not the PPS I remember. It's easier to turn the wheel, but still not as easy as it was when PPS worked before. I may need to swap in the spare PS pump and see what that does.

    wiring in progressive power steering

Today, I found a replacement solenoid from a 91 Lexus (4-door). I clipped the wires off of the body harness (after the connector w/6" of wire). It looks like the harness connection side has similar colors to my 91 Supra. The wire colors are light-green/red and light-green/green. I am...

    Crazy Power Steering PROBLEM

My IGN connection to the ECU was "shorting out," giving me a code 14- No IGF Signal (2JZ swap). Pushed in the right connections/connectors and after several attempts to restart, started and ran well. However, the PPS stopped working. I checked the ECU-IG fuse as described in the TRSM (Pg...

    Unique 1jz 3k rpm breakup

TRD87T had similar issues and eventually thought he had a clogged fuel line. Turned out to be an elbow or FPR at the fuel line. PM him and see he did, that works. He's the only one who I know found/fixed the issue by replacing something that seemed to be that unrelated. The sensors, ECU...

    A holes on here

^^I am one for speed typing and taking all kinds of shortcuts as well. While it's not always imptortant to spell everything right, you do still have to convey your messages in ways that do not make the reader struggle or distract from the topic. Many times, I do not want to retype a bunch of...

    Front stud removal questions

^^I had thought to do the same thing, but thought that if you do this several time throughout the life of the car, you may end up breaking that piece of metal (in the place that is frequently bent). I'd rather lose/fix the tab if anything. I still think there's a better solution (compromise)...

Any good advice on A/C testing? 87 7mge

Is the system still R12? was it ever left "open" in the past? I had several MKIIIs which were not as cold when converted to R134. I do not think that it's the refrigerant, but the inefficiencies of the system. After being left open for awhile, things get oxidized and the dryer/receiver is...

    Harness Plugs

They look like the connectors for the 2 relays (I think) which are over near where the air filter would be at. They are usually mounted on the side of the strut tower. Anyone else have a pic or know what I'm talkin' 'bout?

Pictures of the Wives/girlfriends...and a poll on wives/girfriends thoughts on Supras

Had the same issues... Until I got her an MKIV. Now she loves hers, but enjoys the fun in my MKIII (following the 2J swap).

Searching for Toyota evil(with horns) emblem

The name of the seller is on the last page of the group buy thread... for the emblem. I used the filler material that everyone else uses to fill the MKIII nose emblem recess. I may still have some left over if you want. Just melt into place using a plastic welder or soldering iron. I'll...

    Front stud removal questions

It's a big PITA. We cut a tab into the dust shield and bent back far enough to pop the old ones out, then bent back into place (this is not the recommended/proper way). You will not find much support for "ghettoing" it this way. However, it is simply a dust/debri shield and still does it's...

Installing new calipers, pads, and rotors

I rebuilt my calipers for less than $10 each. I also had them powdercoated to match the engine color-scheme. While you have all that off the wheel hub, tighten up the suspension components you can easily reach there...

    Steering Wheels...what are you using?

I know it'll sound cheezy, but I want to install a steering wheel like i have in my Mazda... stereo controls and all. So, I am gonna go to the junk yard soon and look at the Toyota options for a steering wheel which is more modern and has some controls on it. Anyone else using something like...
