Curious: After 2JZ swap, what does the "birdcage" mean NOW?

Actually... Some people take their front bumpers off during a swap, to keep the engine hoist from scratching it up, and may inadvertently disconnect it (while screwing with removing the bumper).

    Power steering reservoir relocating

^^Agreed, tho the PS cooler is up front also. When I relocated my reservoir, I used a small 6x8 aftermarket cooler, in a lower corner, between the condensor and radiator. Still a heat source in front of the radiator, but not-so-different than stock. I agree tho about adding heat sources...

    Power steering reservoir relocating

The hoses need to be tranny fluid rated... I got them from Stuart Hoses & Pipe in Lewisville, TX. Here in Tampa Bay, I used to use Goodyear Rubber, but there are various valve/hose/fitting companies everywhere. They have every industrial-spec hose/line you need, by the foot.... just tell 'em...

    Power steering reservoir relocating

Yeah, I went junkyarding (& Ebaying) and couldn't find a smaller one (which also looked good) and came across the Towncar. I liked that it was flat/plastic/black, and that I could locate near the hood (looking stockish), but still allowing the hood to shut properly. I still would like a...

    Power steering reservoir relocating

I used a reservoir from a Lincoln Towncar and placed it in front of the driver's side shock tower, by the fusebox... old pic, but should give U an idea/options.

Please, help to find leak. Water gets in salon

Also check your clutch fluid reservoir level. That has been known to go bad and leak into cabin, but mostly in area by the driver's feet.

Any Supra guys with a running Supra in Tampa?

I'm in New Tampa, travelling over next couple of weeks tho. Recently upgraded injectors and installed a MAP-ECU. Am waiting for another AFPR to arrive. Install the AFPR & wideband when I return and tune ECU... then we can go for a ride :-) Singled 2JZ, ~67 trim, 650cc inj., and other basic...

    head removal

It's been tough like that with my 2JZ... Retrace the seam between the head & block. Try prying from opposite corners. I've had to retry lifting/separating the head over several nights, but eventually complies. I guess a really-tight fit is a good fit :-) Good luck!

speedometer cable to electronic sensor what do i need?

Not sure which tranny you have, but the 2JZ W58 tranny has a digital sending untit that can be used on the R154 (slight mod needed) and Driftmotion has a sender also. You would just use these to drive a signal to your ECU. You would need a digital speedo/display or what-not, but should be easy...

    Body kit sources??

I've emailed ShineAutoProject and not received anything back on availability of the items below (from their site). Not too worried about material for the sideskirts or rear add-ons, but wanted the flex that comes with their front lip. Getting ready for paint this Summer and really wanted to...

Best clutch fan combo for 1JZ swapped Supra's?

Mechanical was the way for me... one less place for a potential leak and/or additional moving parts/pumps, electrical to have to provision or worry about. Electric is a very close next option, as I already have a high-output alternator for some support.

    shineautoproject ripped me off

Recently been checking 'em out and saw some of the same questions/comments about their service/provisioning of parts, on their site's feedback area. Dunno what's happened, but they need to fix, so that I can get what I need for my repaint later this year.

    2jz aristo harness

Yeah.... My spare clutch set is a 1JZ lightened flywheel w/stock 7M R154 disc/PP... same shift fork, etc.

    2jz aristo harness

No... U need the 1JZ flywheel... Basically, the rule of thumb is Flywheel-forward = 1JZ/2JZ components and from the clutch disc back, U use 7M turbo components. I have the Exedy 1JZ PP, dsc, and flywheel in mine.

    2jz aristo harness

Yeah... I found the E9 & E10 connectors on GS300, GS400, and IS models... Assuming you may also find in the newer Avalons, Camry's etc. You'll know when you see it. And yeah, I integrated mine with the rest of the harness. On some of them models, it's at the dash, as part of the dash/body...

    2jz aristo harness

Yeah, get an E10 connector... available on many newer Toyotas/Lexus (if you're searching the junk yard. I may part with my spare if you absolutely can't find one). Should be cheap...like $5, not $50. That's mainly for your power connections to/from the C1 connector at engine bay (there are a...

2JZ Swap: OBD2 Port Wireup in a 7M-GTE electrical dash help

That link shows info for VVTi ECU, not the early Aristo ODB1... Some of them signals/functionality may be the same, but doesn't look like it works for the ODB1 (non VVTi) ECU.

2JZ Swap: OBD2 Port Wireup in a 7M-GTE electrical dash help

Been looking at doing the same, but thought my Aristo ECU would be worthless for capturing/displaying the signals, like an ODB2 ECU would. I have a US 6-speed ODB2 ECU that I would like to eventually use (w/MAP ECU), but if the Aristo ECU has anything like that, I'm in... Baiscally, wanted...

Mechacnical Speedo Cable with Aristo A340?

In for pics too... I have a 2JZ W58 speed sensor that I am thinking about using (instead of the Driftmotion VSS) and would like to compare... All I may need is the MKIII gear and fab up a small bracket for it to bolt/stay on the R154. BTW, there're so many variables involved with using a...
