It was on Top Gear, and the Evo was quicker in and out of turns so for that yes it was quicker but not by a whole lot. Top end it would kill an Evo.

Yea, it's on it's own circuit. It allows the starter to engage even when the ignition is off but the car will not start. So just be aware that you can test it with the power off.
