    Capacitor

I'm afraid we're just going to have to agree to disagree, folks. I already have an upgraded battery and alternator, and the cap still made a huge difference. I rarely turn my system up anymore, it's a leftover from my foolish youth, but when it starts pulling upwards of 80 amps average, there...

    Power Antenna Removal?

The rear hatch glass has an antenna built in. Looks like part of the defrost lines, but it's right at the bottom and it's not. Reception from it isn't as good as a proper antenna, but overall it's not bad, I use it all the time. Both antennas have separately wired connections to the front...

    Why Fuel Cut!

I feel compelled to point out that FC is caused by a combination of many factors, the single largest of which is the reading from the AFM. The other factors will still affect it, however.

Update on the Intake for the 7MGTEs

I do remember that the stock ones smell of fish. Really made me wonder at the time.

    Wiring harness question...Please help!

Yes, if you can get an automatic tranny n/a donor car and pull the ECU and harness, you should be golden. Alternatively, I think Jay Marks Toyota still can get the complete engine side wiring harness new, give them a call and ask. :) Might be cheaper than buying an ECU & harness used...

    Crank Pulley Broke?

You bet. This pulley runs the waterpump, power steering, alternator, and AC compressor. No water pump = overheating.

    Crank Pulley Broke?

Machineshops have a tool that will cut a new groove for a keyway into the crank. They might even be able to do this still in the car. You would have to get a matching cut in the crank pulley, too. That's if the remains of the key didn't hone out the inside of the crank pulley by a huge...

    fed up

Both are a little far away, but MattOneDime runs a shop in Portland that could do this (damnifIrememberthename, sorry Matt) and becauseican (BIC performance) runs one in Vancouver BC that could likely do it as well. Hopefully someone will chime in with a place a little closer to home for you.

Who can buy butterfly knives in their area?

I had one of these years back, and lost it during a move. I've always wanted to pick up another one, but every place I visit appears to have banned them, as though they are more dangerous than switchblades & firearms. :( So... which areas still allow these to be sold?

Is there a way to change rev limiter?

As I recall, the 8051 actually came with 4k of storage, which would turn into a fair bit of code, but shouldn't be impossible to figure out. I have a bunch of old decompilers for reverse engineering code... they don't produce the prettiest looking output, but it be possible to decipher with...

    Why Fuel Cut!

I could still hit 12psi easy on my stock CT with a badly cracked coupler from the 3000 pipe to the throttle body. I say boost leak.

Is there a way to change rev limiter?

LOL - I may be correct a good portion of the time, but I'm nowhere near infallible! And I absolutely don't mind being corrected, or worry about a good debate, years in management has taught me how to keep personality and real-world issues separate. :) After all, I spend my days explaining to...

Mike, there's some fantastic information in here... I think I may have to copy a fair bit of that into the FAQ. :)

    Power Antenna Removal?

Pulling the antenna is relatively easy, you can even do it without disassembling your trunk. Just pick up a GM antenna adapter and plug your stereo (if it's an aftermarket unit) into the other antenna lead at the dash, tha connects to the in-glass antenna in the hatch.

Is there a way to change rev limiter?

3p141592654's explanation sounds more likely than mine, I hadn't thought of the decel condition until he mentioned it. Though there is still the question of why it would turn on and off at certain RPM, that's a pretty good fit for what the engine does just above redline... JJ, the cut happens...

    Ever twist ur frame?

Thread moved. I know several people with well over 500whp who have cracked their subframes. I don't know anyone who has twisted their body without a collision. Are you sure this Supra expert wasn't talking about a Tercel?

    headlight wiring question

Some information for you, anyhow. When you leave your lights on, and turn the car off, something shuts the lights off. I've always assumed this is the ECU. You can turn the lights off manually and then back on, and they will stay off even without the car being on.

Is there a way to change rev limiter?

I bounce off the damn thing all the time in first gear. I'm pretty sure this is the procedure for checking that it works properly... http://www.cygnusx1.net/supra/library/TSRM/fi/FI_125.html
