These will not work on a Supra.
A little bit of history for you. In some cars - mostly domestics - there is an air temperature sensor that the ECU uses as one of the inputs to figure out how much air was going into the engine. If you hardwired this sensor, it was possible to get some extra...
Have you checked for codes?
Clutch is easy to check. In 5th gear on the highway, at about 1500rpm, accelerate as hard as you can. As the speed increases, keep an eye on the RPM - if it jumps up suddenly without a similar increase in speed, your clutch is fried.
Could also be a boost leak -...
I've got a lot of experience trying to keep the C5 running... the thing is a tin plated bitch, spends more time in the shop than it does on the road. I'd never advise using one as a daily driver, it's just not reliable enough.
Hee hee... my cocker serial is well under 1000. Without taking it out of the case to look ('cause it's at home) I think it's #772.
Worse than that, it was actually my third marker. :D
Same here... I used to. I played on a pro team for over 10 years. One day I added up how much money I'd dumped into the sport and realized that I could have bought a HOUSE. Quit shortly thereafter. :(
Very custom autococker, literally no stock parts left on it.
No problem! I realize that the quote wasn't entirely on topic, as the material is gone, just figured that bit of info would be useful for future reference when people were searching. :)
All I am saying is that the engineers overbuilt everything else... so it's logical to assume they did the same with the rev limit.
Even so, I *still* don't suggest anyone push their rev limit unless they know what they are doing AND expect to replace / rebuild their engine regularly.
If your AFM electronics are still working, all you need is the housing - and that can be had cheap. I'm pretty sure I have one in my garage somewhere, you could have it for $25, if I could find it.
Doesn't look like any places near to me... :(
Would anyone be willing to pick one up and ship it my way? I can paypal you the cash for it... I want a relatively good quality one, don't want something that is going to fall apart easily. And just under 4 inches long would be perfect.
