Jeff's been into MK3's too long to let some little problems get him down (I hope ;)). A reliably daily driver does help the stress though. Hopefully the BHG repair will allow you ample opportunity to fix all the little "delayed maintainence" items in the engine bay.
"SOGI CAI" is the SOGI cold air induction mod (dryer hose routed to intake)
SOGI = supra owners group international
SONiC = Supra owners network in Canada
bhp = brake horsepower. Measured at the crank, this number is 12-20% higher than rwhp
SAFC = Fuel computer made by Apexi
440's =...
yes, the profec A (old school design) is a bit loud and clicks when the key is on. For the first drive, I thought I suddenly developed some valve ticking. ;) I also did an install write-up that may be of use a while back on supraforums...
Or if you have a buddy, turn the key to ON, and floor the accelerator pedal. TEMS should go to firm. Then have your buddy go to each shock tower and unplug the connectors. It's super easy if you have the back speaker panels off....
A quick check of the Japanese Cusco page shows that the MKIV and MK3 have the same list price for Zero 1 and Zero 2 coilovers: http://www.cusco.co.jp/05_ctg/5sus_k_pdf/csk_28.pdf
Upgradedmotoring lists the Zero 2 at 1,965.45 for the mkiv, and 1,421.82 for the zero 1. That's pretty much the...
Mike U and Larry A. Never have met Mike or saw his car in person, but Larry's is/was something to marvel at.
Oh, and I can't forget Jeff M. The first 4 mods I did to my original mk3 were written up by him (Cut airbox/k&N, SOGI CAI, TEMS firm, and the SOGI short-shifter). His old '89 was a...
I'm in Portland, but would be down for a supra meet/cruise in Western WA. Supra won't be up here for another two weeks though (have to fly down and drive it up)
When does it overheat? Freeway? idle? If you turn on the heater, does the temp come down? Does the air coming out of the heater go from hot to cold without you changing the setting? Are you loosing any coolant?
Don't know if he won it, but he had no small part in putting on the cannonball runs (then switching to the One Lap format with the Cannonball became too politically incorrect)
Yeah, this should probably be off-topic, but mk3's are great freeway cars so I think it's supra-related ;) I recently recieved this in an email, and I hadn't seen in since my grandfather gave me a copy when I first got my license. I routinely do long trips at 80-90mph, and these tips have...
Yup, He might have even passed the 300zx if he hadn't come in too hot on that one corner and understeered off-line. Either way it was an impressive showing
There was once an HTML table there with the different models of coilovers and their corresponding specs, but they are now hosted on two websites:
Mine: http://www.geocities.com/ma71supraturbo/springTest.html
Spipedong's: http://ghettomods.net/coilovertable.html
I agree. I assume you looked at/replaced the valve seals while you swapped engines? If the smoke doesn't clear up and/or it seems to only happen when first starting the car -- that's the 1st thing I'd check
