More than likely what you’re hearing is the fuel injectors firing. They make a tick…tick…tick sound and are quite noisy on our motors, this is normal, and is nothing to worry about.

Believe it or not the DSM side mount intercooler is just a hair less efficient than ours. They have tried for years to use our front mounts as an upgraded but failed. There just isn't a significant performance increase. Instead they use the MK4 stock side mount as an upgrade.

^^^ 86.5-89 Supras had an option for the super monitor. This monitor had an oil change interval feature. Talk about ahead of it's time. In some form or another the supra displayed features that only now are starting to become the norm on modern day cars.

European based MKIII had a low oil level light. You might look in to sourcing the system from one of the Supras from over there. I believe it read from a sensor based in the oil pan. I’m having trouble remembering exactly, it could have just as easily light up when there was no pressure...
