I understand your point too, and its very valid. It's one thing when my warehouse messes up (like in Siman's case, shipping it ground despite a correctly written PO) -- shipped out monday, stayed in Socal for almost 24 hours before slowly going across the country...
It's quite another when...
This was legitimately my fault, and as I told Joe in my email before seeing this thread, I feel terrible about it. For the rest of you here's the story:
Joe (Lagged) calls Monday mid-afternoon, needs a head gasket ASAP (who doesn't ;)). I get his contact info then call all the warehouses...
If it hasn't been machined it wouldn't matter. I looked at 3 of the 7 cracked blocks before they were sent out quite closely and the crack was NOT apparent until it came back
Honestly I don't know. However since that process occurs after machining (at which point the cracks can be seen) I don't see how it would make a difference?
There are some good online sites out there *cough* see sig *cough*. IMHO, the good ones often get passed over because they tell you upfront it'll be 2 weeks before you get your stuff if that is the case, while the some of the others will imply they have the items in stock...
