    Speedo Stoped And now..

No speedometer cable means no speed signal to the A/T ECU, usually resulting in the transmission not shifting out of 1st.

So i saw a clean supra yesterday..

It's a 1991 Supra Turbo. Model code MA70L-BJPVZA, Frame Number MA70-0156020, Built in Nov.1990. Nothing special about it, heh. Just another 91 Turbo Targa Auto. (As for me, no I do not, nor have I ever worked for Toyota, but I may at some point, never know ;). I just research stuff a lot)...

    Master key

A locksmith will have even less of a chance of being able to cut from a VIN than Toyota does. (Probably not).

    Master key

Or just take the ignition one to a locksmith to get it rekeyed. As far as the master key/valet key. Just go to a locksmith and tell them you'd like a master key, they should be able to decode your key code from your existing key without you needing to take the door apart, and they'll be able to...

Help is here! I dare the hard problems!

This thread is on thin ice, my suggestion is to find people to help instead of having a "need help, come to me" attitude, I dunno why, people just don't usually care for that. Up to you, but this thread is in danger of closing due to just going so far downhill from a relatively decent start.

front end of MKIII converted to toyota chaser???

You sir, are wrong. There are no fenders that will bolt up, the hood had to be modified as well I believe. The mounting points are probably close for other stuff, but you're looking at a LOT of modification and work to get it to fit at all.

    Blitz 300kph Speedo

I'm Calgary, and can help quite easily, just let me know. I've done stuff like this many times. As far as the install goes, the speed face will have to modified slightly, and the calibration will need to be changed, but it's not a huge deal, the stock speedo should be able to adjust for the...

Dylan's How To: Auto-up mod, now with pics!

Typically a DC motor like is used for the power windows uses about 2A when in motion, once it it's the end of it's travel, or even something blocking it's travel, that jumps to approx. 10A, this kicks a relay to stop the power to the motor.

Dylan's How To: Auto-up mod, now with pics!

This is true, and for people with kids I wouldn't recommend doing this mod, but even if you put your arm in the window, it will stop before hurting you. If it was a child's neck... would probably cause some damage/suffocation.

Dylan's How To: Auto-up mod, now with pics!

It was a market thing. In Japan the cars had Auto-Up. In fact, pretty much any Toyota from 1985-now with Auto-down had Auto-up in Japan. You'll find rarely though that all the circuitry for the auto-up is already in place. The Supra/Celica switch is the only one I know of where you don't have to...

    Body Work Questions

"Frame-Off" restoration doesn't exactly apply to a unibody car like this, however, if you want to get it fully restored, you'll basically want to be buying a lot of new parts from Toyota, no aftermarket junk. New fenders, new hood, new hatch, etc. Everything that has any sort of a problem that...

    *Electronic Boost Controllers*

Every Supra from 1979-1992 does. :) Starting with the MKIV they went to an electronic speedo, but every Supra before that has a speed sensor in the speedometer. Even cars without cruise control. :)

    *Electronic Boost Controllers*

RPM signal is obvious. Speed signal is too, once you think about it. Almost every car has some sort of speed sensor, definitely the Supra. Even though it has a mechanical speedometer, the ECU, cruise control, and A/T ECU know how fast the car is going... need to get that signal from somewhere...
