Honestly, this is a good idea I would think. Paint might suffer a bit, but most of the dent should pop from that. Biggest pain is likely to be pulling the interior panel off. Sorry to hear this though man, it has been a bad month for Supras getting hit. I think we all have stories like this...
Makes enough sense I suppose... Too bad finding wheels with good offsets to run wide front tires is difficult if they look good too.
Might be picking up a set of 17x8.5's for the front soon, any reason not to transfer over the current 275's? I imagine there might be a bit of sidewall bulge, but...
Have you seen the print ads for those? I feel sorry for the guy who has to write those. Compared the Leaf's percentage of available torque at 1000rpm (100%) to a German sport sedan (~30%), something else, and a 'rugged v8 pickup truck' (~40%). What the ad doesn't mention is that said pickup...
As the other guys have already pointed out, 3k isn't gonna happen. There are always little things here and there that you're gonna need, things you're gonna need to fabricate, and things that are either going to be broken or break. Figure I bought my car for 5k (because I'm an idiot who sorely...
Steve, I believe the general grey import rule here in the US is 30 years, unlike Canada's 20 year rule. I wish it were 20 year here, not too many 30 year old JDM cars in my price range, you know? However, here in Wyoming I'm sure I could pull it off pretty easily, they're rather lax here on...
This. I had my car painted and about a month or so later, stupid shed display at Home Depot flys into my car because the assholes that assemble the things don't understand the very basic nature of wind in Wyoming... ~$2000+ in damages, and they have yet to do anything about it.
Anyway, at least...
You can get rid of the sensor for your stock boost gauge, but it will throw a code of some sort, although I forget which one specifically. Does it help to have that gauge hooked up? I really don't think so, it's slow to respond to input and always seemed about 2psi lower than what I'm really...
I read recently on here that taking a dremel and grinding away a bit of the plastic nub that holds the gas door closed away will let it open easier, as the nub does not retract as far as it should with a loose cable.
Alternatively, this also sounds like a feasible idea, I may have to give this...
Just gotta find the right girl. My old lady doesn't mind driving around if need be. I think my style of attacking corners is rubbing off on her a bit too. :)
Honestly $800 isn't all that bad for a bolt in HID retrofit I'd say, considering what HID's went for 8-10 years ago... Question is, are these 6054's something that you would recommend? This is one area I don't have a whole lot of experience with.
Man... I gotta say, this kinda makes me a bit sad. I'm in no position to pick up another Supra any time soon, I'm not even done with either of the current ones yet. I also vote on trying to keep the car whole, you've put too much time into it to tear it all apart again...
5k+ really shouldn't...
Sorry to see this happen to anybody, much less someone in the Supra community... If I were local, I'd be there in a heartbeat to help. I may not be that bright, but I can lift heavy things! Meh... not even my usual sense of humor is helping here. :(
You might do well to talk to the local Home...
