What Poodles said, plus one more. There's a gasket between the rear timing cover and the block itself. There are also a couple plugs that connect to high pressure oil galleries IIRC, any one of those missing would make for mayhem on a large scale.

As I recall, Randy at BICPerformance put TWO of those on a 1J - so, an engine with .5 Litres less in the way of displacement. And he didn't even keep that setup for long, now he's running a single again - not that this says much, his car is essentially the shop vehicle, he changes his setup...

I suspect that it depends on your goals, as usual. If you want stock power levels with better turbo response, then, well... maybe. If you want more power, like most, there are better ways.

I'll say this: I have yet to check for boost leaks on a car and NOT find one. Well, except after I've fixed them all, of course. I think EVERY Supra has at least a couple after 20 years on the road.

Check your codes again, see if they've all gone away. I'd suggest pressure testing the intake system to find boost leaks, it's WAY easier than pulling bits off to inspect using the Mk1 Eyeball. Smoke machine sure makes this easy...

Ok, this was an enjoyable game except for one problem. It's SHORT. Not 'The cake is a lie' short, but close - I'm done. Probably took me ~10 hours total - I only installed it on Friday, after work and before we headed out to watch a film - and it's not even the end of the weekend, and I'm done.

Interesting. I didn't spot page 2... That looks like a direct clone of the old HKS short runner, and that's a damn fine price for it, too. Somebody should buy one and try it out! :D

The reason we asked for a link is because the only ones that show on the Treadstone site are for the 2J engine, not the 7M that comes in our car. But IJ is right, that was still funny.
