I'm taking my car into a performance shop and getting a MHG put on my stock 7mgte due to recent BHG. I have 2600 to 3000 dollars to work with. My goals are a very strong base to work off so I can build on engine internals and then later on do things like FMIC, aftermarket exhaust, electronics...

My car drives fine, even under WOT. The exhaust smells a bit like coolant and it overheats once and awhile depending on my driving style on the highway(40-120 mins). I took out the thermostat and temp checked it for opening and it was a bit late..204 instead of the 186-194 the TSRM states...
