my new dd :) and its tragic set-back :(...

I've heard from anyone who has driven one that they seem to have everything exactly where it feels like it should be. Not too many cars are like that, and aside from the lack of a tilt wheel (in the FC), if the FD is anything like the FC, I would probably agree.

    1JZ Thermostat modification for cooling

Sounds like you have a pretty solid plan in place Don, you'll have to update us if your tinkering returns good results, with pictures! ;)

    my addition to the madness

4500 should be enough if you have a solid plan in mind. Might factor in another $1000 though, for the "just in case" things that often come up. ;)

    The Small Questions Thread

IIRC, there was a "changing your headgasket in ## easy steps" thread that was stickied somewhere in the Mk3 section. Should give you some good ideas and pointers. :)

Window goes down but not up?

Eh, I got a bit overzealous with my application of it. Covered all the access holes for the guts of the door. :nono:

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

91 from our local Exxon (believe it is E10-E15 mix this time of year). Been running it like this for a couple years now, and the plugs still look like things are well. Wouldn't run it for long periods of time at afr's like that though, I know better. :) No worries, my mistake. :)

    Auto Tranny cooler question.

Thanks for clearing that up, auto transmissions are something of a mystery to me, but that makes sense. Don't they already have filters in the transmission though? You're suggesting an in-line filter for the guys running auto JJ?

    How hot is considered overheating?

Surprising they don't do that from the factory on cars like this, I don't always notice a gauge, but a buzzer on the other hand... Pretty sure there are only two times I can remember when my car has gotten that hot, but I got those things sorted out quickly after. :)

Airflow at X psi elevation difference?

After doing a bit more research into this this morning, I'm wondering if this is more simple than it seems, or MUCH more difficult. Shall continue reading, but there are a few of you on here I would be most interested in hearing from on the subject. :)

Any 2 Wheel Lovers on the forums

Whatever you ride, if you want something stupidly fast, shoot me a PM. Guy that did my head is a good friend of mine, and he has a certain way of making things of the two wheeled/atv nature into monsters. ;)

    Advice

Definitely this. You probably made a good choice (obviously, saving $1300 is a good thing, ask anybody in accounting), but said good choice may have made your boss look like an idiot for whatever reason. Perhaps his bosses were asking him why he didn't think of that, and some people get paranoid...

Finished 2jz swap: The epic adventure Celica

Hmm, if I were to do it, I would weld in some bracing elsewhere to reconnect things. Currently contemplating a v-mount actually... We'll see though. :)

my new dd :) and its tragic set-back :(...

I'd smack you for having a big drink (that isn't in a bottle) sitting just waiting to tip over in that car... fortunately, I can't reach you. :p Anyway, car looks nice, the FD is on our list of "possibles", I like the idea of Miata characteristics, with a better looking face. Details of the car...

    New IS250?

Haven't seen anything, but have heard the occasional murmur about it. Wonder if Mr Lange knows anything about it..? Buddy of mine traded in his Corolla XRS for a 2.5 awd, he and his fiance seem to like it well enough. It isn't as quick as their Juke, but they really like it. Would love to drive...

    Well I scored a 89 conquest

I've seen a couple here and there. Wasn't it on this forum that we had a guy with a JZ under the hood of his Starion? Anyway, to the OP, I think your assertion of "shitty little DSM motor" might be a bit off base. I don't think this car had a whole lot to do with Chrysler, pretty sure...

Pretty good sized gun for a .22 Fred, is it a .22LR round? I always liked older guns, they just look classy...

    looking for advice

I believe that is where normal fuel cut is on the 1j/2j, but I'm probably wrong. Turns out my problem wasn't fuel cut, it was my plugs as well. Changed them out for fresh ones, and the car is getting upwards of 18psi without interruption... pretty sure I'm on a stock ECU too, I didn't see any...

    my addition to the madness

Sometimes, making mistakes is the best teacher you can ask for. I'm pretty sure IJ would agree with me there... Now, to clarify a bit, are you expecting to make a reliable car at that power level with $4500, or did you have $4500 to make that power level happen, on top of what you already have...

    1JZ Thermostat modification for cooling

I can give a bit of input here, but not much. Recently, I removed my AC components from under the hood, since nothing is hooked up anyway. On the highway, I would see temperatures around 210 when cruising the interstate at 75-80mph. Now, without the condenser (which wasn't being used) in the...

Anybody wanting nice coilovers? Good opportunity here...

Hey guys, before anyone calls me out for endorsing anyone on here, I want to make it perfectly clear that I am posting this for 100% selfish reasons. I want an upgrade. :D Anyway, THMotorsports (new vendor on here) is hosting a group buy for Stance coilovers for our cars (Mk3 and Mk4), for...
