It's worth more to someone else than it is to you. It's not worth the trouble to butcher it over some (relatively) small problems.
The issue is not how much power it's capable of making, it's how much you beat on it.
If you want to actually PUT DOWN a regular 800hp every day, you need a train engine or something similarly large and durable.
