Great pictures. That green MKIV engine bay with the stainless stuff everywhere and the round spark valley/cam gear cover is art. I love staring at it... would hate to try to build something like it myself, unless I was retired. :)
It sounds good with the exhaust on too. :)
I have it mounted now but haven't taken any pictures or video yet.
It's the same exhaust previous owner had on the car which was 3" (if I remember right) catback+cat, with my addition of the driftmotion DP for 1JZ+stock twins. Everything bolted right...
Steve, you could have a bad ECU... capacitors in these old ECUs are known to go bad and bulge. Not suprising considering their age. :) driftmotion has a capacitor replacement service you can do through them.
You could check by popping the cover and seeing if any of them have failed visibly. If...
It's worth noting on my last trip I went back and did a more thorough welding job on the kinked shifter, it's now pretty beefy around that joint and shouldn't bend or break on me.
I'm making a trip this weekend to do some more work on my car... Stuff I have left to do:
1. splice, solder and...
Nice job! I think it'd be harder for me to get mine that far back partly because of the stock twins coming close to the firewall. Maybe with a big hammer...
They may still work but they are getting less current than they are designed for in that case...
The resistor pack is meant for lowering the current through low impedance injectors which would otherwise draw too much from straight 12v. High impedance setups should have the resistor pack removed...
communication problems... he never claimed he was going to fix the idle miss by upgrading, just that he needed 1 new injector and was thinking of taking the opportunity to upgrade all 6.

Hi
I have a 1JZ-GTE with oem electronics, and a transmission from a chevy colorado (Aisin MA-5, AR5, whatever you want to call it) which has a 2 wire vehicle speed sensor.
I was planning to get an adjustable electric speedometer, something like this...
I'm a little late to the party but I had an idea:
I'll do the 30 amp relay mod, then I'll add another relay to turn THAT relay on. Then another relay to turn THAT one on.
Then I'll post some pictures and recommend everyone follow suit, and take comfort in knowing I have caused my fellow forum...
You need a high pressure line which is probably what you got from DM. That will go from the PS pump to the rack.
For the return you need either a stock line (which it doesn't sound like you have,) or a 17mmx1.5mm (or something like that, don't assume I'm right there,) adapter to -6AN, which DM...
Aeromotive FPRs have "enough" dampening ability in the membrane already that you can do without an oem dampener. Lots of high power builds run just an AFPR and no seperate dampeners. There are aftermarket standalone dampeners out there but they are generally targeting returnless systems where...
That is cool... so cool that I could see myself [quite irresponsibly] spending thousands of dollars on dual roller barrel ITBs if anyone made them for 1/2JZs.
Very interesting thread as always.
Hey that looks like a Chevy Colorado trans based on the shifter location in the picture. Same thing I'm using in my car, which is super close to driving now.
I gotta ask, though: what did you do about the shifter location? Did you have to cut/notch the trans tunnel? I ended up cutting a chunk...
Thanks for your help f00g00. Smart to go to the web archive --I kept finding links to that site but it's dead, obviously. Unfortunately those diagrams seem to be for JZX81 as opposed to X90.
Radial: Same experience here. JZZ30 and JZA70 and JZX81 and etc... but none of them are quite what I...
Video of it "running" (It has spark in the video but no power to injectors yet)
Wiring is being kind of a PITA... I spent forever looking for pinouts for the JZX90 engine harness and didn't find any, so apparently I'm going to have to trace every wire I need...
