Who made 1jz twin exhaust mani

As said, if you are throwing away all the plumbing that goes with the stock twins... you might as well go with a more standard modern single turbo. I upgraded my stock twins but that's only because I wanted to keep all the rest of the Y-pipes and downpipe and stuff stock. If you're throwing...

    Miekedmr's build thread

Status update. Projects not dead or anything, just been on hold due to some life changes. (New job, new apartment...) The engines back out of the car so I can deal with leaks. I fitted the cnc cut trans-bellhousing spacer. I might get another weekend to work on it before the winter, we'll see.

    1jz headers

The exhaust manifolds for the stock twins are so short that for someone to make tubular headers, they'd 100% have to relocate the turbos, which means custom merge pipe, custom downpipe, etc. I don't really see the point. That's a lot of custom fab just to keep the CT housings. I opted to...

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

got some overnight parts from japan... lol. they are metal o-rings that go between the turbine housings and exhaust manifolds on the 1jz, which no one stocks in the states.

    metal o-ring in 1jz-gte non-vvti exhaust manifolds - removal / replacement?

So FYI none of the sources in the last link had the part available. However, I was able to get them through a japanese company, jp-carparts.com, because they have them in stock over there. 17278-88400

    1uz starter wire?

I'm not super familiar but are you sure it's not part of the body harness on that car, as opposed to the engine harness? Do you mean the main 12v from battery or the solenoid trigger wire?

    1987 7M-GE Rebuild

Taking the dampening off the front of your crankshaft is risky, you're compromising one aspect of the engine design. most of the weight was there for a purpose, to absorb vibrations from the crankshaft over a certain frequency range. You may be fine and get plenty of miles out of your lightened...

    Any one regret their swap?

Sometimes I feel bad it's taking so long, is so expensive, etc. I made things complicated for myself going with an AR-5 and swapping my engine into a car that had a modified subframe, choosing to do a weird water to air setup... But I still think the effort will have been worth it, not...

    Code 12 - 1JZGTE swap MA70

I had a code 12 some of the time due to invisibly-bad ECU capacitors in my JZX90 ECU. (they were bad but didn't look bad) I had a lot of other symptoms too, though, like sometimes the code reading didn't do anything at all. Just one anecdote but maybe it'll help you.

    metal o-ring in 1jz-gte non-vvti exhaust manifolds - removal / replacement?

Ugh I can't find these things anywhere. They're about 44mm (1.75") inner diameter and 53mm outer diameter. :: tumbleweed ::

    metal o-ring in 1jz-gte non-vvti exhaust manifolds - removal / replacement?

That one is for the outlet side, Y-pipe to downpipe, rather than manifold to turbine-housings. I opted for a graphite gasket there instead of the ring. I can't find the manifold o-ring available anywhere, at least listed for that application. Like you said, an exhaust shop could probably find...

    metal o-ring in 1jz-gte non-vvti exhaust manifolds - removal / replacement?

Hi I have a spare pair of 1JZ stock twin exhaust manifolds, and I want to pull the o-rings in the grooves on the turbo side out so I can have the manifolds shot blasted/ceramic coated. Are these things even meant to be removed? If so, how do I? Are there replacements anywhere? Mike

    Miekedmr's build thread

Both from driftmotion. They have a dropdown that lets you pick upper gasket, lower gasket, or both (+$47) I wasn't sure whether they'd be some kind of multilayer composite thing or what, but they're just solid pieces of some type of hard plastic. I probably could have made some myself with the...

Unfortunately, I didn't grab a picture of the mercedes bumper support when I had the chance, but it looks very close in width and overall dimension to the oem bumper support, and weighs about half as much! Parts arrived: - new exhaust gaskets for when the driftmotion upgraded ct12as go...
