1989 NA Build- ALL Motor, no turbos here

on a 7M it's silly to try to get displacement with overbore but that doesn't carry over to every other engine.

Chambers Build Thread - "Daily Eighty-Seven"

Very nice work. There's no manual for what you're doing and I know that makes it way more difficult. I hope it pays off and you really enjoy the end product!

Not a ton of progress, but... please ignore the fram filter, it's temporary. made upper mounts from 304SS. I made the lower rad mounts from my old RAID enclosures case. The radiator is mounted now, further forward and under the rad support, leaving plenty of room for the W2A stuff...

Does it really take 8 years?

my 1J swap, with a nonstandard transmission, fuel system mods, and the poorly-documented JZX100 engine that required switching sumps and rerouting oil drains and all kinds of shit... I have worked on it basically 1 day a month or less, for a couple years now, and while it's not all done, It's in...

Car not starting randomly? READ THIS (30 Amp Starter Relay Mod)

Satan: Sorry guy, was just an attempt at comic relief --I wasn't really trying to insult you or anyone else. I definitely don't think I'm superior. I'm a hobbyist who embarrasses myself all the time, like when I advised someone on here to buy the wrong type of motor mount. :( My post was as much...

Need help determining year of Wiring Harness

You have the "yellow plugs" pre-1989 harness. There is a post-1989 harness with incompatible grey plugs. There is an exception I discovered in my 1989: it had grey plugs which were in fact yellow-plug compatible. 1989 was a "bastard year" where many changes were made over the course of the model...

We finished our first Chumpcar race(s)!!

I think I recall someone replacing the bumper support in their car with an aluminum one of similar dimensions out of a mercedes. I think it might have been the guy from Spain with the white car with blue stripes. ( josbeat...

My behind-the-radiator water-to-air setup described in the last post is getting put together with these: Everything will be v-band, from the hotside outlet to the throttle body. No silicone anywhere except on the low pressure side of the turbos. The intercoolers will be fully supported by...

    Sheedy Built Supra

It does look identical... funny thing is the ebay pictures show the wastegate flange orientation 90 degrees from where it is, but the actual delivered manifold looks the same. Assuming they aren't from the same batch... that seems to be the nature of manufacturing in china. As soon as they...

    Rear upper ball joints

If used ones don't appeal to you you could also reach out to someone like beech performance and get custom ones that use more readily available replaceable ball joints. ( I think ) A bonus is adjustability for more control over camber and geometry in general. I know a member or two have those...

The radiator is now part of the way mounted underneath the cross piece that the hood latch attaches to. I need to make some better brackets to hold the bottom up, but the uppers fit nicely. I had to do a little rerouting of the loom to get it out of the way of the radiator. Mounting the radiator...
