Well after decided I don't really have the space for a part out, I posted it up for sale yesterday in the local craigslist. Gave all the information about the car that I know. Rod knock, possible bhg, bypassed clutch safety switch(from previous owner who messed up and now i just put a wire...
I do know a guy with a shop that could probably help me take parts out as needed, if i offered him some a portion of what i make off it. All I would have to do is ask him.
that is actually a very good idea. a part out never crossed my mind. Next time i'm in access of a good camera, i'll get some pictures. no one likes iphone pictures haha
I'll be completely honest and say that when I first got the supra, I didn't know how much of an investment it would be, and just how much money everything was going to cost. I got it with intentions of rebuilding it ASAP because I knew I was going to have the money for it in January/February...
Right now I've decided I'm gonna hold on to it as long as I can and see how this whole financial deal plays out. There are a few shops around here that do financing, which I'll do, I just need to come up with some financial stability first. If I had the space and tools to do it, I would totally...
As much as I hate to say, I think that I really need to sell it. I just don't know how much it's worth right now. The body is great. I went out and looked at it again today, I found one tiny spot (less than quarter sized) on the hatch, otherwise no rust. There's no rust on the frame, either...
Any information or guidance is greatly appreciated. I'm trying my hardest to be able to figure out a way I can keep the car and afford the rebuild while still being able to pay my other expenses (ie, phone bill, insurance on other car, gas, soon i'll have to pay rent for an apartment, college...
unless i come across someone who knows how in my area that would be willing to help me rebuild it. i would rebuild it myself, i just dont have the tools an equipment.
hey all, so i'm thinking of selling my supra. i haven't had it for very long, but with a blown engine and no money or anything to fix it, and money getting REALLY tight, and having a lot of things to have to pay for very soon, i'm getting desperate. I love the car, but it's about the only option...
luckily i didn't throw a rod! i stopped driving it before that could happen. but i've been looking a lot for a new job being as military stuff is now done, and i'm left with literally $2 to my name.
but i do SOMEWHAT have access to tools. my brother-in-law has a lot of tools being as he's a...
that is very true. i think what i'll do is just go to school for it and fix it myself. i just applied to the local tech college here for the auto mechanics course to get my Associate of Applied Science degree from there. if i can get accepted, i'm gonna talk to the place and see if i could bring...
looks like it's time for me to start job hunting! everything in my life just changed. i'm getting a medical discharge from the military due to depression.. :/
so all my plans money wise are completely gone, and i need to refigure out everything.
on the bright side though, this will give me the...
That actually is some good advice. Good reminder. I think a lot of young people like me seem to forget exactly what all we'll need to be paying for in the future. My plan is to get the supra at least running again and then I can start saving up for housing, ect..
That is true haha. But it won't be as tight. I'll probably still be living at home when I get back so all I'll have to pay is insurance and phone bills. Rest will be car money, so that's nice. Haha
next to impossible being as i leave in less than 2 months for Basic and AIT. no one wants to hire someone thats going to leave right away for 6 months.
about $300 in bike parts..
my baby went from this..
to this
and what i bought was this
fully put together the wheel looks like this
i'll tell ya. lacing a rim is just the pits. no fun at all haha
the $120 is definitely me living with my parents :p but it also means that i dont get to really do much being as i have no money to go anywhere because of my phone bill. but i bought the supra with the intent of not really driving it much until i got back from basic and AIT when i had the money...
i wish. unfortunately i only make about $120 a month right now from the army before i leave for basic, that all goes to phone bills and gas in the other cars. gotta love being fresh outta high school with no job because no one wants to hire someone that's gonna leave in 2 months for the Army. oh...
