No, other than a funky idle a code 51 will not make his car run bad. Nor will a 42 keep his speedo from working. I could go on but as I said the guy needs to read the manual because it's really hard to help the completely clueless.
Btw I couldn't be right about a code 42 being TPS related...
1) The TPS needs to be calibrated to the TB.
2) Not weird at all the engine runs good with it unplugged. It's supposed to. However if you have the wrong one plugged in (or the right one but not adjusted) it'll be a different story.
When it comes to being stumped the OP must be confusing me with someone else...
I'm surprised at the focus on boost leaks. Fuel cut is not there to "protect" the engine from boost leaks. It's sole purpose is to guard against wastegate failure.
Oops, the switches are labeled correct. Guess my eyes aren't what they used to be. Post edited.
I see what you mean about Ken's thread. I was looking at the first post/photos. Appears he swapped housings later on. It's confusing.
Something I've never bothered to figure out is the story on the...
The GE in that thread shows two ports while the GTE shows three. Since the TEWD and TSRM tend to agree with that it appears to be a N/A versus turbo issue concerning the number of condenser fans, specifically the pusher fan. Also if auto or 5 speed. Mine 87T manual looks exactly like the pic...
Doesn't have to be much bigger than a marble. Doesn't have to be a rock either. Could be a dropped bolt, etc. Just about anything that size can shred the belt once it falls to the bottom. It's happened to several people here.
Not to muddy the water but my 87 is three port. Also, the pic from Bishop is correct regarding the AC coolant sensor. The other pic, the one usually posted when this subject comes up, appears not to be.
I wouldn't sweat not having them too much. They're not supposed to come on with the AC. They're only there in case high side pressure goes above 220 psi or coolant temp goes above 212 F. I can't recall the last time mine ran.
