Viper alarm self-install, remote start acting funny

Yup, which is exactly what I'm after in this thread. :) Thanks shaeff! Any other ideas everybody? Its a little too cold today, so I'll try to rewire the 12v and ground later this week. I hope that solves it. Meanwhile I'll track every strange occurrence in this thread.

Viper alarm self-install, remote start acting funny

Possibly... But why would it turn it self back on after I turned it off? Seems like I really need to rewire the 12V and grounds just to be sure...

    OEM Wiring Work

Wow, awesome work. I just finished up a lot of wiring for an alarm and I can only begin to appreciate such clean and thorough work. Do you do regular 7MGTE re-freshes on harnesses and connectors? If so, how much? I'd imagine less than the 800 or so that Toyota would like to charge?

Viper alarm self-install, remote start acting funny

Hey guys and gals, I recently installed a 5701 Viper alarm/remote start in my '90 N/A. I posted this @ the12volt.com, but figured I'd tap into the brain power here and see if anyone could help. :) It works just fine 9/10 times, BUT sometimes the remote start acts up. The system has a...

    Minor Tweaks...

My guess is the carbon fiber hood is not set-up to accept the struts. :dunno: Nick: your car is an absolute stunning piece of metal and plastic. Dont let that thing get pummeled by an earthquake.

    Returning brake vibration

If it is infact pad material build up can I fix that by sanding the rotors down as they spin or is it something that must be lathed off? I'm guessing it would need to be lathed off it is enough build up to vibrate the car/steering wheel. Any way to keep it from happening every ~10k miles...

    Returning brake vibration

My car had a bad brake vibration when I bought it almost two years ago. I replaced the front rotors and the vibration went away entirely. Shortly after, (maybe 6 months) replacing the fronts, the rears started to vibrate. I went to have them turned and found that the new cheap front rotors...

ROFL One of the burnout's I Have done shows up on Google street views

Agreed. I was thinking the same thing. I'm so used to having mountains around, it's weird when I visit places with few hills or old trees. **EDIT: This is the street that leads up to my neighborhood. The other side (behind me) is very hilly as well

    Radiator nightmare....!!!!

Be careful what you wish for. I absolutely hate the worm clamps and have paid good money to replace each and every one with the Toyota tension clamps, or Pinch clamps. ;) The screw on worm ones are more difficult to use, if you ask me. They dont not rotate once they get firmly on. But...

Making your Supra better on the cheap

Dont mess with the AFM. I'd say the best cheap mods/updates I've done are: -Shift boots from Empera on here ~40 for both -Oil drain valve (fumoto) ~25 -Mighty Lift Hood supports ~35 for both -Shifter socket and seat from Marlin Crawler ~20 -Paint repair kit and Bottle of touch up paint ~20

    sputter/hesitation after intercooler install

Another vote here for the MAF, unfortunately. I'd stop driving the car hard until you get it sorted. Could also be that you have a massive leak somewhere in your intercooler piping, but since he "tried" to clean the MAF I'd bet on that being the culprit. In all seriousness though, if you're...

Car wash sprays water past window seals?

I need to get the pieces isnms mentioned. Mine don't leak, but are annoying with the wind. It's just hard to swallow ~150 bucks to reduce wind noise a tad... Oh well.

Very sad thing. Just goes to show you should always watch what's going on around you in potentially dangerous circumstances.

    Questions about the mk3 supra

Insurance on most ~15-20 yr old non-classic/non-exotic cars will be about the same on insurance, regardless of age, IMO. My insurance has barely changed whether it was a '91 accord, 90 supra, 89 supra, 87 mr2... etc. As a beginner car, I would have loved to get a mk3 supra, but it would have...
