Hey all! I have recently acquired an 88 turbo auto to bring back to life.
The car:
Red Pearl (3H1) Paint in good shape
128k original miles
Automatic tranny
Interior is very good other than seat rips
Currently 100% stock (that I know of)
The dilemma:
Previous owner stopped driving...
Sad to see it sold, Johnathan. You should've kept it. Not many mk3 owners care for their cars the way I know you did...
Fwiw, I've spoken with johnathan a LOT over the last two years and he's definitely a stand up guy who used to own a great example of a mk3.
To the new owner, good luck and...
You should pick up the fog light wiring connectors for me. ;)
I just need the wire coming off the back of the housing to the connector. $5 bucks/pair and I'll cover your shipping...
No worries. So long as I can find these with decent lenses or find a way to polish the glass, I'll have these available for some time.
Mine have selective yellow bulbs, but there is a yellow lense in these, so either way, they are yellow.
Yup, I was inspired by Super Secret's a while...
Used these this week in the snow/rain and they help a ton more than the stock fogs. Really lights up the edges of the road in front of you.
Still waiting for a day off when it isn't raining/snowing so I can find more wiring connectors.
If anyone is interested and doesn't want to wait, I'll...
Repost. Funny, but a repost.
If you're unsure in the future, put three words or so in quotations and search it. Doing this in this instance would lead to jdubs thread called "Tools and their REAL uses." ;)
Compared to anything but a built N/A, hell ya a stock turbo feels fast. ;)
I was never too thrilled to turbo swap until I got my 89 turbo project u and running. I couldn't stop smiling. Boost is such an incredible feeling.
I had a dream that I walked out to my car and someone had broken into it and stolen almost everything. It was stripped like crazy.
The funny thing is its a bone stock NA. Clean, but bone stock, haha.
Can you use the pre89 harness on the 89+ engine without any modification?
In other words, the harness must match the year of the car, but does it matter at all for the engine?
87 engine + 90 harness +90 ECU into 90 car is all good?
I thought I had all this info straight, but obviously not...
Well i found the one I was thinking of. It's not gt4, but rather a racing sim for PC.
I could have sworn the speedo worked, but still very, very cool.
