Long time since I posted on this thread. Just so everyone knows, it was the AFM. Replaced it just before I put the engine in, and the noise went away. She hasn't died at a stop since, either.
Ripped the dash out to replace the speedo cable and oil pressure gauge.
Gotta rip it all apart to fix the BHG. It only ran 3 days!

Actually, you don't want to go over 3K with a fresh rebuild. Also change the oil after 500 miles, then again after 2K. There's going to me metal in the oil during the first oil change, so don't be suprised. And have fun!
