Well just bought an '07 ninja 500 with 3300 miles. Basically brand new. Never been dropped.
I decided i like the 500 more because I'll be doing a good amount of 50-60mph riding and i just dont trust the 250 to accelerate or even maintain speed easily at that rate. The 500 should still be...
This thread is probably the most public way to let everyone know you are unaware that off topic posts don't count for your post count.

And would you do all that custom work and sell your complete product for under my price? If so then start making them because you'll have a huge buying market. My guess however is that you would value the complete amount of work and parts you put into it well over $250.
Am I wrong?

I know exactly what you mean. But once you understand some basic terms, its really not that complicated. Just takes some research and caring on your part. It'll all be natural language soon enough. ;)

Until i see the output, I'm condemning these as dangerous POS's. Sorry.
I have yet to see any projector retrofit for under at least $250 that is even usable. I hope you prove me wrong. ;)
Are you running stock HG now? You could deck the block, machine the head and go with a good MHG and be ok with a little more compression, but you really shouldn't take much off the block or head. There are right ways to increase compression and taking material off the block/head is not one of...
Your 401k will likely grow at least with the rate of inflation. If your 401k doesn't do well over long periods of time something has gone very wrong. You could easily play the stock market on your own and make TONS more $$. You could also lose virtually everything. A 401k will be a steady...
I'd be very hesitant to run rotors of any difference. Last thing you want is an unexpected pull to one side in an emergency situation because one rotor is superior to the other and grabs harder.
Material can make a difference, so can cooling design, rotor mass, the location of that mass, ie...
I have full coverage on the Supra, a $50 deductible on comprehensive, $500 collision, forgot medical coverage, but its not the lowest, not the highest. I pay ~$230 for 6 months on the Supra. Geico and literally a perfect driving record.
Come to think of it I should really set it to storage only...
Can't remember if I used Ultra Black or "The Right Stuff" on my last one, but it worked fine. Maybe they're the same thing? :dunno: Until just recently I never even had a tube of FIPG.
A tubular subframe wouldnt be that expensive to make, parts wise, though I'd imagine getting everything placed 100% correctly would be time consuming enough that replicating it for sale might be pricey.
I basically drive the Supra like everyone's out to get me as is. I go out of my way to never tailgate, leave a "way out" at all times, never ride a blind spot, slow for most intersections, etc... With the Supra it's not because I'm trying to save my own life, but rather I couldn't bear to see...
Thanks Joe, I appreciate the words of experience. I like the idea of a bike that I can really push to begin with instead of a bike I have to fear for years. I completely agree with your philosophy regarding people that start on a 600 and "survive". I dont want to just survive, I want to really...
Thanks for the comment Joe. Did you end up buying a 250 ninja? I remember posts of you wanting to buy one, but I'm not sure if you did or not. If so, how'd you like it?
If not, what did you end up using for learning and how much riding did it take you to feel comfortable with a quicker sport bike?
