Bought a 91 MR2 for commuting and track

What's your sn on psn?! I think I only had one other friend actually doing the gt academy this year. I have to admit, a lot of times I'll do a section 10 times, then watch the top people do it and discover I'm losing 2 seconds on a single turn I didn't realize could be taken flat out or...

    7MGE Exhaust removal

You should be able to get it off without taking off the manifold. Before doing that, I'd take it off from the rear, section by section. If the rear is still in the hangers it can be really tough to move the front section very well. If you're hangers are in good shape, they wont allow much...

    7MGE Exhaust removal

There's normally a mount holding it to the trans. Sure you have that undone? Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2

Soon to be dead engine? Calling JJ, IJ,and Jdub

Correct. Theoretically, you could use 5 in diameter piping and be fine. It would take forever to prime(fill with oil and reach operating pressure), but if there are no leaks and the piping is constant volume, you won't lose pressure, per se. The pressure reading you see on the gauge comes from...

    w58 on 7mgte?

Been running a rebuilt w58 on 8-11 lbs with a stock ct-26 for over 10k miles. No problems, full boost every time I drive. Any more and you'd want an r154. Clutch dumps don't help anything, lol. Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2

Soon to be dead engine? Calling JJ, IJ,and Jdub

Too free flowing? Hose too big? Impossible. A leak is a problem, but not a free flowing circuit. Physics says neither of these is the problem. The engine bearings and possibly the flow path are what creates the restriction of flow and therefore pressure. Only way the hoses are a problem is if...

Bought a 91 MR2 for commuting and track

Haha, my times? Hopefully you've seen good things. Yeah, I feel like I know the basics and can run a good line with good throttle and brake control, but I'm sure it'll be like starting all over on a real track slamming on the brakes at 75-100mph. Should be a blast no matter how good I am to...

Bought a 91 MR2 for commuting and track

So it's been a year since I bought a car and figure that needs to change. I sold my 91 Yota truck for $3700 and bought a POS 91 NA MR2 for $1700. $2k in the bank and better gas mileage. Woot! Car is mostly stock, but has certainly been messed with. The body is rough. Very rough. Not many...

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

Good thing you caught it! Hope it wasn't like that long. One tip: the 20W-50 oil only helps if the motor is on its way out. If the motor is still healthy, that 20w-50 oil is like a blood clot in your engine's veins and will CAUSE the motor to fail. 20W-50 doesn't flow anywhere near as much as...

Just picked up my first Supra

Good choice on staying with the 7M, at least for now. :) The 7M reliability issues tend to be owner related and can mostly be avoided with proper care. The 2J can handle abuse like nobody's business, but the 7M isn't far off and is still a blast to drive.

Damn, I think you guys are right! Motor trend has it at 0-60 in 6.2. That's a second or two faster than an na, I believe. Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2

Sure about that? Frs - 150 ft lbs of torque. Na supra 200 ft lbs of torque. Frs may be lighter, but it's also much, much weaker. Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2

Agreed x 100. Nsx is my realistic dream car. They are easy to come by clean 1st gens for ~25k, 2nd for 40-50k. Problem is though, financing a car that old is VERY tough and generally very pricey. If I could finance a 25k nsx at 1% or something i'd start saving today for a good downpayment...

    Views on Open Carry

Personally, I'd only do concealed carry around town. Open carry draws unwanted attention and doesn't necessarily add benefit. It may act as an active deterrent, but it may also make you target #1 when the bank robber sees you in line before they open fire. Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2

chasing head bolt threads in the block

FWIW, when I chased threads on my first GE motor, it was pretty tough. I was afraid I was tapping a new thread or something crazy. Turned out just fine and every motor since has been easy. Not sure what makes some threads that much harder. I didn't even get much gunk out of the threads. They...
