Bring back the Kaminari 3 piece spoiler???

Well if I keep the mk3, looks like this will be sucking up some funds... Very interested for more details. Design particulars and price most notably...

The Fruition of Obsession -- 310,000 mile makeover --

Update from my end: The Supra hasn't been driven in a while. I got the driver's door pretty well refurb'd. The glass doesn't rattle nearly as much and it sounds much more solid when closed. I need to adjust the glass height because there was a slight wind noise along the window top during my...

Hard Start, stalling, stumbling when hot

Absolutely. Every now and then a thread will pop up on the forums that says something like "My car runs rough (or won't run) after I cleaned the AFM." It probably would have saved some people if Toyota had put a warning sticker on there or something. Then again, plenty of people would just do...

Hard Start, stalling, stumbling when hot

Good update and neat find. PSA though: DO NOT USE CLEANER ON YOUR AIR SENSOR!!!! Even if the cleaner states sensor safe. The 7MGTE uses a Karman Vortex optical sensor that WILL be damaged by sensor safe cleaners. It is never intended to be cleaned...

Mods to do while whole car is taken apart?

Instead of sealant, I'd just buy brand new union fittings. I got both parts needed for ~$25 or so a few years back. Well worth it and it should stay leak free for many years. Re-using the old ones is a recipe for an annoying leak. 90401-22004 90405-17005 90430-22008 x2

    Weird Temp Gauge

I would do that to flush it. You'll get a lot of fluid out of the block plug. I was surprised just how much fluid remains after draining only the radiator.

    Weird Temp Gauge

I'd put $5 on that being a BHG or a small coolant leak. Good luck!

    Weird Temp Gauge

Remember that burping is only a bandaid for a bigger problem. The system shouldn't require a burp unless it's got a leak or unless you've modified the system somehow (odd pipe routing or something). I'd try renting a cooling system pressure test kit from your local store. I've had that show me...

Mods to do while whole car is taken apart?

Depends on your plans for the car, but for a street/GT style build I would definitely coat the entire interior in sound deadening. A few hundred bucks should get you full coverage with decent stuff and will make the car feel/sound much nicer when it's all back together. If it's a track car or...

    Alternator contact

Ah, sure. 14V doesn't make for much of a spark, I suppose. Good call.

    Alternator contact

That's a poor looking stud and connector. at the very least you should take off that eyelet and clean the stud and eyelet very well. The cap could be discolored from a consistent spark if the eyelet and nut weren't making good contact.

10 Things I Hate About My Supra!

Yikes. I already knew this, but videos like this with a few thousand views really remind me that YouTube numbers are not based on value of content so much as popularity. #1: Hood latch. It doesn't pop because it's not properly adjusted. You can adjust the bumpers and the latch. He also seems to...

87 Supra Preservation/Modernization Build (Lots of pics!!!)

Sweet stuff on the 4runner! Makes me want to put some money into my Land Cruiser. I think a front bumper would go nicely with it!

Hard Start, stalling, stumbling when hot

bestsupraever: Let me help you out here. Forget The TSB for the 22RE. Delete it and forget it. Check your rest pressure. The fuel rail should keep fuel pressurized. If it doesn't stay pressurized, fuel boils, starting problems ensue. The temp switches, FPU and FPR will not overcome a loss in...

Any one tried ridiescom seat covers?

Likewise. My seats aren't great, but it's hard to swallow $1000+ in just materials to recover factory seats. Those Ridiescom ones might just be the ticket. What does install from a pro generally run? I don't really have a clue.

    Toyota Head Gasket Limitations?

ARP studs. Power: eh, who knows. I'm guessing under 400 crank, maybe low 300's to the wheels. I haven't done anything to get around fuel cut and I have the boost controller set *just* under fuel cut. Part of my summer plan is to get her on the dyno and do a test between my current cat (largest...

    post pics of your interior

I think leather reupholstering has a lot to do with the fitting process and using new padding. The leather seats. Com stiff can turn out awesome, but you need to pull it tight, use adhesive and new padding. Lots of people just take the leather and throw it on, making it look less than stellar...

    Toyota Head Gasket Limitations?

I don't know what qualifies as the "latest", but my Toyota Head Gasket from a few years ago has around 30k miles at about 11-12 psi 50 trim CT26 with no problems. I run it hard and it's been great. Prepped head and just a razor scraped block surface.

The Fruition of Obsession -- 310,000 mile makeover --

No problem whatsoever from me on the derailment. It's a discussion spurred on by my recent sentiments so I think it's all very relevant to my Supra journey. :) I think we're all on the same page. I've got plenty of time to figure it out because I'll need another $10k in cash before buying a...
