    Project Git 'er done!: Stages 1, 2, 3, 4....Stage 5- Reassembly after 13 years!!!

Welp, that worked. I ran the motor for 20 minutes, until it was at full temp, and was able to Finally get that center coolant plug out. Looking at it, I'm pretty sure, that I only had one last attempt, before it became a perfect circle, and stripped out completely: I was planning to pull a...

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

Your radiator looks to be original. If it is, it could very well be getting clogged. Years ago, I had an issue in the summer, where the temp would be fine while driving, but if I turned on AC, it would begin to overheat. I was right at the maximum heat transfer threshold of the cooling system...

Clunk sound from rear- Anyone ever had a bad half shaft?

When I replaced the diff, i looked for cracks, and didn’t see any. Im going to have to crawl back under, to get another look.

    Project Git 'er done!: Stages 1, 2, 3, 4....Stage 5- Reassembly after 13 years!!!

I know that i promised pics, and they are coming, but i thought i’d update while I had free time: I was able to remove and re-seal the front and rear coolant plugs, but that middle one will NOT budge. I’ve heated it, added PB blaster, and used both breaker bar and impact gun, but all I’ve...

    Project Git 'er done!: Stages 1, 2, 3, 4....Stage 5- Reassembly after 13 years!!!

Update: As of 5 days ago, the engine is back in the car, reconnected, and started successfully on the second try. Surprisingly, there were NO leaks whatsoever. In its current setup, the oil cooler circuit is bypassed, so that I could run the engine up to operating temperature(twice), and have...

Clunk sound from rear- Anyone ever had a bad half shaft?

Unfortunately, my clunk is not from loose items in the hatch area. It's definitely in the drivetrain. I will get into it more once the weather warms up again.

    Project Git 'er done!: Stages 1, 2, 3, 4....Stage 5- Reassembly after 13 years!!!

A quick update, before we go into the 14th year of this 1 year project, lol!... Once I got the block back from the shop, I checked the deck surface, and STILL found that there were some low spots, and the finish was not really up to the smoothness requirements for a metal head gasket, so I hand...

Clunk sound from rear- Anyone ever had a bad half shaft?

Hey Alcyon- Good to see you're still here, but sorry that you're still having this issue. Unfortunately, I'm still having this issue as well, but it's now also evident in my 89 Supra. I've replaced both axles, had Piratetip rebuild a new diff for me, replaced all subframe and rear suspension...

So, I got the block back from the shop, they said they found no defects, so I will reassemble, and hope for the best.

    Project Git 'er done!: Stages 1, 2, 3, 4....Stage 5- Reassembly after 13 years!!!

No, The shop I used is in North Georgia. And just for an update on the first test drive.... It didn't go well. Smoke everywhere. But, i kind of expected that. I was just hoping that a few pulls might seat the rings, and reduce the burning, but no. You see.... Ever since I first assembled...

    87 I got bored!

Hey Tireburner- Glad to see that you're still in the game. You build is about on the same exact timeline as mine; I started in 2011, and finally down to the last few months of completion. As for your CT26 build- I think it's a great idea. Seeing as how a 57 trim CT can produce 400-ish HP, I...

    Project Git 'er done!: Stages 1, 2, 3, 4....Stage 5- Reassembly after 13 years!!!

Hey Loc- The bill for dent removal was around $1600, and then it went to paint. The shop i used went above and beyond, removing the hatch and doors to get into all the back edges, and they removed the windshield, to address a slight bit of corrosion. I also asked them to clear coat the CF...

Original Explosive Material - Tobes' Build Thread

Unless your power goal is above 350hp, a Felpro head gasket with ARP's at 75ftlbs will last forever.

    Project Git 'er done!: Stages 1, 2, 3, 4....Stage 5- Reassembly after 13 years!!!

So today is my birthday, so as a gift to myself, I insured and registered the car for the first time since 2011. I was planning to test drive it tonight, but I'm going to hold off till tomorrow. Here's some walkaround pics, and some of the door work I was doing this past weekend. Remote...

    Project Git 'er done!: Stages 1, 2, 3, 4....Stage 5- Reassembly after 13 years!!!

Well, a small update- The hatch visor is on, and the front left trim/ side marker. I accidentally busted the right side, because it was hanging off the car, and I caught it on my pants. I'm now waiting for Mr. Martinez to send me a replacement. Not sure how long that will take, as apparently...

    Project Git 'er done!: Stages 1, 2, 3, 4....Stage 5- Reassembly after 13 years!!!

So an update: I'm almost done with bolting everything to the outside of the car, and about to begin on the inside of the car. The only remaining parts on the exterior, are the front two side moldings, the rear passenger wheelwell splash shield (fuel tank shield), the front left and right...

    Project Git 'er done!: Stages 1, 2, 3, 4....Stage 5- Reassembly after 13 years!!!

I finalized the install of the Kaminari tail. Installed PPF on the top of the decklid, and used stainless studs and locknuts, to make it solid. I didn't want excessive metal flex on the lid, so theres also some metal reinforcement inside.
