Oh, ok. I don't trust dealerships because they tend to have a bunch of retards working there. BTW, my dad is a retired master mechanic of 24 years, and he refused to work at dealerships because of the yokels that tend to work there.

OK, stupid question. How do I determin whether my car has ABS or not? I just got this car in the condition it's in, so I can't do a brake check to test if the tires lock up or not.

Along the frame in the front IIRC. Before I put my 87 in the shop to get the motor installed, it was a shell and I remember seeing a couple VIN plates under the car near the front bumper, on the frame I believe. Also, if you pop the hatch open and look next to the seal where the water runs...
Start with the hood. That'll save 30+ pounds right there. Alloy wheels would be a good 2nd step, along with a 1-piece driveshaft (steel is prefered because it is stronger, but it does weigh a few pounds more than aluminum).

Interesting, you're running pre-89 clears with your post 89 bumper and no grills. Hmm. Looks nice btw. I like how you relocated the spark plug assembly.

You can drop the trans with the motor still in the car, but you will need about 3' of socket extensions and a somewhat stiff U-Joint socket adaptor to get to the top bolts.

Wait, you took your car to a dealership to do a motor swap? I hope you don't get raped too bad and that they do a clean job. BTW, smart move on replacing everything.

So this other 87 1J I picked up has brake issues. I can push the brake pedal almost to the floor before the pads finally grip. The pads are new. The back right rotor is barely getting touched at all by the pads. The brakes are well bled, and I'm not loosing any brake fluid. WTF is going on...
Once I swap everything for stock parts I'll be asking $3000 because of the condition of the body.
Mods, can someone please edit my title so that it says my car is an 87 and not an 88 please. I checked my title today.

Got some new pics of the car, enjoy!
I'm too lazy to go out to the car now and take a pic of the boost gauge lit up. But I will say that it glows indiglo blue, and it looks nice.
I agree with Suprahero, it'll be easier to pull the tranny while the motor is still attached, although I'd lift the car up a couple inches to make sure it clears. How many cars do you have? I see atleast 4, and not 1 looks to be working (2 confirmed).

Where did you get that shift knob? That thing is killer! Very nice ride bro, althought the body mods aren't my taste. Nice numbers you put down btw. What size tires are those?
