You never know Grim, we could get lucky and get some of the thicker ones too. I'm sure there is more than a couple of guys out there with old thrashed heads that probably have seen a valve job or two. Might just have thicker shims on 'em. It's one of those deals where people have to actually...
I also had this problem in the front and after much looking and checking every component I found out it was my lower ball joints. I have since talked to many people who have had the same problem.
Go to TSRM online and inspect them according to their instructions and I'll bet ya that's your...
What "worthless tangent" are you talking about...no I take that back I don't care.
Hey Mr. Agro...relax, lifes too short. You're gonna give yourself a thrombo.
So we have a difference of opinion, so what? You got yours and I got
mine. But I'm not insulting you...yet. I don't care to have...
Are you talking about cam covers or timing belt/cam pullysl cover?
For what it's worth I made my own timing belt/cam pullys cover with window (lexan) exposing the cam pullys. Looks great. Easy, cheap!
Trust me, if the solenoids are clogged or non-op or leaking through the O-rings it will do exactly as suprastic describes i.e. hard late shifts.
TPS is a possibility for erratic or incorrect shift points but not likely to produce the symptoms described in this thread.

That's good advice but I don't think it applies to this case because its the rear wheels (or thereabouts) that the noise is comming from. If I spin the rear wheels the rear end will engage and it makes it hard to tell where the rattling is comming from.
Still searching for a way to diagnose...

I've looked and can't find anything obviously loose. I don't have access to a lift, maybe if I did I would be able to see more. I put it up on...
Keep in mind my rattle is coming from the rear end of the car so tie rods and end links dont apply.
Still dont know what it is. Any ideas would be appreciated. Also I put the car up on jack-stands but couldn't find anything but maybe i wasn't looking at the right things.
I have been trying to locate a rattle that sounds like it's coming from my rear suspension. It is noticable at low speed over small bumps. Problem is I can't isolate it. I've had the car up on jack stands and tried to find the rattle and nothing. Everything looks ok but I did notice what feels...
Ok, pay attention cause I been through this myself and I've dealt with just about every bad thing your a340e auto trans can do.
First of all, did you check the codes like I suggested in my previous reply? No, of course you didn't. I can't help you if you don't listen.
CHECK YOUR CODES...
I'm glad to see so many guys with DD's. I don't see alot of Mkiii's on the road so I was starting to wonder.
I don't see a Mkiii every day or every minute like a new Mustang or some other "common as potato's" car. As a result on the rare occasions that I do encounter another Supra I've...
