    Not having the afm plugged in means it won't go past idle most of the time. :-) You need to take a pic of your engine bay. Check to make sure AFM is plugged in.

    You're not reading wrong. The bosch/cheapo/enter brand here doesn't last nearly as long as OEM denso.
