Jeff... I think that might be a way to entice more people from around the country to come down. Maybe even advertise it to some of the Canadians that are in the province(s) north of Minnesota and Michigan. That would be pretty cool to get people from around the country and other countries to the...
NWS: would you really send your crank off to Australia for that? There are places in Canada that do that work, it's a hell of a lot cheaper to find a place in Canada than to ship it off to Oz. Haha
Are you sure it's not trans related? You said that you can feel it in the clutch pedal, so it's possible that it's one of the bearings down there.
If you're able to reproduce the sound, get a video up.
No kidding on that last one. It's taken me about 3-4 months to save up 1000 for the engine, trans (hopefully), and all the things I need for a 5spd conversion. Then it'll take me another year AT LEAST to save up for a build.
Boy oh boy do I need a second job...
Bah, why bypass when zip-ties are your friend? I have the temp control in the car at 85, had to push the plunger all the way up, then zip-tie it in that position.
Now I have heat! :biglaugh:
I wish you the best of luck.
The car was a little dirty, didn't look like it'd been washed in a while. Some of the trim was missing, but everything else looked alright. I only took a quick look at it, so that's about all I saw.
do you hear it only inside the cabin, or when you're standing over the engine?
I have a ticking sound inside the cabin but it's sort of quiet. Can't hear it when I'm over the engine. I was told (by a mechanic) that it was my speedo cable, but I'm not sure on that one.
Very nice list.
Hey Matt, did you plan on coming down here to pick up your old car, or is it being dropped off to you? I know exactly where it's at, I actually stopped by and took a look about a week or two ago.
I've thought about doing that, but didn't want to possibly waste someone's time, as I'm not ready to start a build quite yet. I'm pricing things out for future reference, but will call or email different vendors with a list of parts that I want when I do actually start everything. I should be...
That's true. I'm making an Excel spreadsheet of about 7 different vendors for parts (as listed on their websites) and showing who has the best prices for what parts. So far I'm at about 1700-2000 for parts alone. Machine work is probably going to be another 1000 at least. For what you want to...
