if you want to add a bodyshop trick for removing the plastic liner so that it doesnt get stretched out what you do is:
carefully cut the butyl adhesive in the middle of the bead with a flat razor while lightly pulling the liner out by the edgewhere you are cutting.
this leaves the liner...
no not right off the top of my mind they come in an assortment. gotta go to the parts store tomorrow anyway i'll look for the help part #.

no i think instead of pulling the platters i will properly perforate the cases at a distance of 100yds or more, then burn as directed,- the thermite using diesel instead, and mmm marshmallows
mine are separate as well, and i was the first to take it apart. go to autozone or oriellys and checkout the help aisle, you should be able to find something that will work. even if yours are part of the sill you could use them.

wow poodles you snuck in on me. ya it would be usefull as ram. but these drives are not up to the task. most of them are 90's vintage
Why would you throw out hard drives? They're actually pretty stable storage devices to keep around as long as they're stored correctly (compared to burned CD's at least).
If they're SATA, set up a raid array for fun.

exactly supramario, and who do you think likely works at a dump? i dont trust anybody. i guarantee that there is some extent of scavenging at the landfill.
i have 7 old harddrives that came from my last 7 computers. i have deleted all the info on them, but i dont want to just throw them out as i dont want to chance somebody recovering any info off them.
