    abs problem

Most ABS codes that are speed sensor are where the wiring has been damaged/destroyed from something in the road. The sensor itself can fail, it just isnt likely.

    Octane question

If you think the owner operator is doing something with the fuel he BUYS from the Chevron/BP/Shell/Marathon/Conoco/Phillips/Texaco/Exxon, or which ever refinery he is buying from, report it to the local inspector. Then it will be tested, and you can see first hand what a placebo is. The owner...

    Do your own oil changes!

Upon contact turn another 3/4 to full turn. It is much easier with the strap wrench. edit: seems like the filter box says 3/4 to full turn. I don't remember. Oil changes are such a non issue.

    Proper way to prime turbo?

Oil does not circulate on a bearing surface until the shaft is rotating. This is called the hydrodynamic state. Until you displace the pressure by rotating, you wont coat the bearing/bushing. Yep.

    7mgte power

Or swap in a 7MGTE which fits with relative ease and hassle, and run 12's with out mods. And for a whole lot less than the LS1 would cost in the first place.

supra cranks but no start, please help

If the engine is flooded, it can sound like it has no compression. Put the acclerator to the floor after you start cranking. Do not pump the pedal. (ever) Just crank. If it is flooded, it will possibly take 20-30 seconds to clear.

    TO4E. YES OR NO? WHY?

Reread what I wrote. I said the opposite. Those have laid down fairly consistently 350-370 rwhp with piggy back tuning. It would take work to make 500. Extensive means quantity and quality together. Not a big deal.

    TO4E. YES OR NO? WHY?

Wow, that is some insight. Do you think you will breathe air today also?

supra cranks but no start, please help

If it all checked out, it would start. Don't make assumptions when trying to diagnose a problem. You can not skip steps in the diagnostic flow charts.

    TO4E. YES OR NO? WHY?

That sounds very close to the old HKS sport turbo upgrade. It probably won't put down 500 rwhp without extensive tuning.

    Are electric fans worth it?

The only time I have seen a fan ruin a radiator was when the water pump came uncunted. That has nothing to do with the topic. That is like driving a RHD car in the US becuase somebody might crash into you on the LH side and hurt you. I have seen my fair share of running engines. That is true but...

How much boost on stock gasket.

One of the original, or first, NA-T's was running about 500 rwhp when he blew apart the ring lands on the pistons, while the OEM style HG stayed in place.

Code 12 Problem - Hard Start

Fluke makes some very nice diagnostic electronic testing tools. They make something called a DSO, which is short for digital storage oscilliscope. That is a hand held version of those big Sun engine analyzer machines, that measures to much more accurate figures. It allows you to graph things...

    Timeing Question

Timing to a point will make a small difference if the fuel allows. The closed loop ignition will not gain very much though.

How do others feel about your Supra?

In general, who gives a shit? But by and large, everybody loves it. Rides great, real smooth, real fast, nice and quiet. As Toyota intended.
  18. Nick M

    Are electric fans worth it?

This in incorrect, so the rest of the point is too. A shroud is so you pull air over the entire surface area of the radiator. Distance has nothing to do with it. If you haven't noticed, FWD factory cars also use a shroud. That simply isn't true. You can put a fanclutch right up to the...

    Octane question

Most gas stories are myth. The modern refining industry does not work like most think. Go see all the different fuel trucks pull up to the one refinery in your area. There are mandated standards that are met. And local jurisdiction often has standards and does samples too. The difference in gas...

I need to pick between Maftpro and standalone

There is always that e-manage. From what I have read, a Lex and e-manage is where I will be headed. Not at 500hp though, so that is a big difference.
