I would look at the wastegate and arm and not just the actuator function. Also, that turbo will not respond like a CT26, which I thought would be common knowledge.

For the record, the default position of the fuel pump relay is 12V. All you have to do is disconnect the switching portion of the relay that would turn it to the resisitor.
Yep, the seals. The smoke quits after running. But as it cools, it is pushed in from the low pressure area forming. You can see it with a bore scope, just to make sure you don't waste a lot of time pulling the head off.
Manual or low 1 means you are not putting it in drive. Put it to the bottom and see what it does. If you can't fix or read a clutch application chart, the internet is not the place to get your car fixed.
So you put it in manual 1? Take a look at the chart. There are not many choices.

Time for a diff tear down to set the pinion depth and backlash. Yeah, you will get a new bearing and set preload. It isn't hard to do, but you need specific tools and to know how to do it.
