Bad head gasket is one weak point. First mod would be maintain the car and make sure it is in tip-top shape before you go doing mods.

20miles is alot? I do that everyday too. anyways i have seen people put it where the coin tray/ tems controler is. you have to extend the 2 wires+ a ground all the way over there, which shouldn't be to bad.

I think they are basically the same as my MK4 NA's and I rub sooo much on the inside until I got my spacers = ) now I want some thicker ones to make it flush.
