You know, that's not at all a bad idea, I have mine setup in a similar way, but the hose is long enough that it's in no danger of kinking as is. Still a cool idea, Checker sells metal coil things to prevent hose collapse like this, but they're kinda pricey for all they are...
The benefit of doing this? I've never looked into it much to be honest. The Spec multi-disc clutches for our cars really don't seem all that pricey, at least compared to OS or Tilton anyway...
You know, I still plan on putting in a 10" at some point (have all the parts except the sub, still shopping), and already have a set of Polk components, but depending on how I like those, I may upgrade. Wish I could hear them in person, get a better idea what they sound like...
My car doesn't look much like that at all anymore, but this picture was ~2+ years ago, back when I was living with Clint and his old lady. :)
For what it's worth, we painted those wheels about 30 minutes before these pictures were taken. I think the paint probably dried on the way there haha...
I thought about building my own as well, just have more money than I do time unfortunately (which is evidenced by the giant pile of parts sitting in the corner...), so I just went with the TS in-cabin tee. Would like to mess with their EBC's, but the Hydra Nemesis standalone has boost control...
I'll be keeping the Polk db501's in the stock rear boxes, and adding in a couple 5.25 components... I forget which brand, but I heard them in a friend's car, they sound pretty good. :)
This is about the only picture I have showing my setup... It's not terribly far from the 7m design.
Maybe I'll put mine back in for fun then, if it'll allow me to blow some cool air in...
If you have the HCV in your system, you will still have 3 hoses... Eliminate the HCV and you'll only have 2 if you run your heater. I'm not totally convinced the HCV really does anything all that important though, as the difference in mine with the valve and without feels the same, as far as the...
I've daily driven a Supra of one sort or another for... nearly 5 years now. They make great winter cars! :)
I imagine the OP's car makes more than all three of mine would put together though!
These are a charcoal engine enamel (high temp) painted over a black paint that was already on them. Just a rattle can job, but they look alright. Hope the scenery isn't too much for ya. ;)
I just bought a TS boost controller, the quality of the part seems rather solid, I'll be installing it this weekend. Clutch really isn't in any condition to be taking much more boost, but it should hold for a bit of testing. I bought this particular one though...
The other night at work I was letting a couple employees out and saw a black 9th gen Corolla (turns out it was one of my guys' girlfriend) and asked "who's black Corolla is that?" and my manager said "the one parked in the handicapped spots?". Sad thing is, he was talking about my car...
So I...
Back when my car was red (3e5 I believe the tag said?) I always thought a dark bronze would look really good... Not a very "crazy" color, but red and "crazy" don't always look great together. Perhaps a really bright blue or yellow of some sort if you're looking to get a little attention...
Ozzy, I know Home Depot carries quite a selection of Rustoleum spray paint, I can almost guarantee you you can find something very close. The store I work at has at least 15 different types of gray...
Our cars came with condenser fans between the intercooler and condenser, but I have seen VERY few cars that still have them. You have one on yours Cyrus? Might help explain the problem being a/c related...
What part of Phoenix are you in? I spent quite a bit of time there. SM is a great resource of information for sure, but if you're looking for other local Supra owners... *points at sig below*
;)
MPH in any particular gear is dependent upon three things:
-rear tire size.
-gearing ratios and rear diff ratio.
-how high you rev it.
My 1j hits ~109-110 in third at 7200rpm with 275/40/17 on it. If I were to rev it to 8500, it would be doing ~132 in third. Dunno how high a 1G would rev...
When you find it physically impossible to *not* look over at your car any time you walk within sight of it...
When you keep dumping money into it, knowing damn well that there would have been much better examples to be had for cheaper, dumb as that is...
When you walk into the tech's library...
