Flex-a-lite electric fan vs. Adrenaline electric fan vs. Mishimoto electric fan

My fans will come on eventually with the thermoswitch, but it makes me uncomfortable how hot the car gets before it allows the fans to come on with that switch... However, I took a 135lb cast iron sink to the head a few months back. Finished my shift, and drove myself to the hospital 5 hours...

    weight reduction

I thought that the 7m vs 1j weight subject had already been proven? If it helps to add anything to the argument I've also got a PWR radiator and Megan coilovers, both of which I believe to be a few pounds less than the stock components...

2010 Supras Invade Las Vegas (tm) – mid October

I love how I'm the only one posting in here, I hope I'm not the only one there! :biglaugh: Keith, are the dyno and show/shine one in the same, or do you have to pay separately for each event? Just trying to budget here, we're dialing in my car for the drags this week. I'm waiting on...

    weight reduction

Forgot to add that I put roughly 40-50lbs of dynamat/stinger roadkill in the doors and all through the rear of the car. ;) And what do you mean fat? My tools weigh about half what I do... I'm bird boned, ~115-120 depending on how much I had for lunch. :biglaugh:

Flex-a-lite electric fan vs. Adrenaline electric fan vs. Mishimoto electric fan

Hey Poo, do us PWR guys have any option of going clutch fan with the JZ, or are we stuck with e-fans? Personally, I just turn the thing on once it reaches operating temp and forget it, but I've always been one to keep an eye on temps, so...

Flex-a-lite electric fan vs. Adrenaline electric fan vs. Mishimoto electric fan

If I could have went with the mechanical fan, I would have. However, a 1j and a PWR radiator necessitates that I go electric. I was a bit short on cash at the time and also unaware of the Adrenaline option, so I picked up the Mishimoto shroud/fans from HPF. Can't say I've been at all...

    weight reduction

Just weighed my car again last night. 1j, stock turbo, full interior (minus rear seats, all 15lbs of them), spare gallon of oil and coolant, my tools, and a ~200lb passenger, gas tank full... total = ~3920lbs. Subtract driver and passenger, take out the tools, and you're looking at a 3550lb car...

How do I make my antenna go down?

Like stated above, check the plug to see if it's even plugged in. Has it always been up since you got the car? If so the previous owner could have turned the radio on, and then unplugged it. It won't retract without power...

Place Your Bets! Dyno Tuning Tomorrow!

Everything's set up according to TS's instructions... Might try putting it on a significantly shorter section of line from the tee and see if things change. Or if not a bit of machining may be in order... Machinst/mechanic friend of mine says these sort of boost controllers don't do well for...

New direction for Andrews supra....22ret swap *LPG*

Trolling again Wes? :p Sad thing is, I still have trouble figuring out if you guys are joking around or are actually turning wrenches on this sort of thing haha... See ya in Vegas!

    Blue smoke !!!!

Could be excessive oil remnant in the exhaust piping itself... I switched out my catback for a used Blitz a few months back, and there was quite a bit of oil in there, made my car smoke for a couple days. Went away after that though, so if it's continually smoking, you likely have different...

    JIC Magic Exhaust System

Sam, mine's a full catback, with the smallish resonator that you speak of. I'll be adding in an additional one where the cat was at some point in time. It's had a test pipe there since day one for me... I drove down to AZ and back (~2200 mile round trip) with the RS*R, and I gotta say, I won't...

    weight reduction

IJ already pointed out that compromising safety for speed is a bad idea, which is why I posted the bumper support bit with a warning that it was a bad idea... Anyway, on the original subject, you really have to appreciate a vehicle for what it is, not what it isn't. It isn't light. It IS a...

Place Your Bets! Dyno Tuning Tomorrow!

I have the above "in cabin" Turbosmart MBC. Would have been kinda a pain in the butt to get the vacuum line through my firewall at the moment, so I just turned the knob all the way in (minimum boost) and I'm still hitting ~16psi with ease. Granted, the boost controller itself is on the end of...

    Interesting 92 on Ebay

Good Lord... Even I with all my tinkering ideas, would NOT modify that one whatsoever. Interesting to note, according to the window sticker the targa was standard equipment. I didn't know that until now. :)

    weight reduction

Why in the world would you want to remove weight from the middle/rear of a car that's already nose-heavy? Seriously... you won't like the way it handles if you do that to an extreme. If I were going about lightening up a Mk3, I'd move the battery to the back seat area (remember to ventilate)...

    JIC Magic Exhaust System

I have had the Nur-Spec R for a few months now, nothing but love from me. I know there's a lot of hate going on for silencers, but I gotta say, driving a car that's likely well over 100db sucks for anything longer than a trip across town. The Blitz I got came with the silencer, and I haven't...

Recaro, Sparco or Momo - Seat Covers - Who makes em?

I've tried my own "customizing" on a set of sheep skin covers my parents got me last year. Unfortunately, most of your easily found seat covers aren't made for sport style seats with bigger bolsters... I'd say find a good upholstery shop, they could modify pretty much anything if they're good...
