I was trying to connect all of my vacuum hoses and ran into a couple missing. I was using this as a guide. http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/TechTips/vacuum_hose.aspx
This VSV below has one nipple that connects to the hardpipe, and another (yellow) that connects to the EGR. I don't know where...
This is why I always look both ways before proceeding through an intersection. Never take it for granted that people actually stop at red lights. If you were paying more attention to the road and had your mind on driving instead of reading something (texting), then you would have been more...
When my car smoked that bad my turbo seal blew. It poured oil into the intercooler. It filled up so much and it started dumping into the throttle I assume. I took an oil pan and placed it under the intercooler inlet (from turbo) hose. I loosened the hose and pulled it from the intercooler...
Good victory . Take it to the dragstrip next time and get some hardcore numbers from the both of you. And a better vid too.
I think you're a much better driver than he is. His car starts from the factory at 300hp. With boost raised and the little mods he has I'm suprised he didn't win...
I had the same problem with my 7m & round mounts. I couldn't get the mounts to drop in position by myself. I had some friends with experience come and help me man handle it in.
Congrats on the install. Looks good. It's always nice to have people around your area to lend a helping hand.
Special thanks goes out to David and his brother (sorry, forgot your name). I couldn't have drop this engine in by myself. I forgot something though.... forgot to hook up that coolant hose to the hard wrap around pipe. No biggie though. A friend of mine has a set of Snap On long reach hose...
The first pic you look like you're in your early to mid 30's. If you would have shaved your beard and kept the hair you'd look like you're in your late 20's. Shaved head with beard you now look like you're in your early 40's.
Now give us a pic with with that bald head with a serious face...
I made a second attempt to drop in the engine/trans this morning. I need help. There's just now way for me to lower & tilt while trying to manuver the engine over the mounting holes. If anybody can help please let me know. I'm off on Tues, Weds & Thursdays. Can do this anytime of the day...
Certain colors are single stage, others are bc/cc. I was at an auto paint supply store the other day looking at Dupont paint chips for my '91 MKIII. I noticed they notated that some of the colors were originally single stage, and others were 2 stage. This was for a 1991 Toyota Supra specific...
No. I jacked up the front so I can get under the car. The engine/tranny was on a load leveler. At one point I removed the motor mounts, tried to bolt down the tranny crossmember, and was going to manuver the engine over the mount locations. That wasn't going over so well either cause the...
I don't know yet. But from the looks of it everytime I oil it to keep it lubed it looks like a little oil seeps out the turbine side. I'm thinking it's no good, but I have to wait and see.
Last night I was in the garage dropping in the engine and trans together. I was installing it with...
I like how he tried to buy you off for a measly $300. What a moron. I will not do business with XTD...ever. I will pass this info along to everybody I know that's looking for a clutch set.
You have to consider how many of those little cans you'll have to buy to properly cover your car. For nearly the same price you could probably buy a half decent bc/cc paint kit from your local auto paint supply store...
Nicole, did you ever contact that those turbo rebuilders here in town? Did they quote you on how much the rebuild would be? Let us know if they're handing out killer deals.
