PRpimp, u sure it was non v-tec the zc (like the integra LS motor) or it was SOHC v-tec like the d16y motor ? if it is the d16y, tell him he should get a v-tec controler and have it kick in around 5500rpm and get a good tune. then he will be nice and good :) your friend probably has a GSR...

sounds like a standard set up to me. strait out of the box greddy with more boost price for the turbo kit is @ 6689 on their website. plus the piston rings in the 350z and the g35 HATE bosot and blow. leaving you with a 40k(stock) pile of junk

i read somewhere that the NA-t (done right stock boost) will jump your HP to around 230whp and 270wtq. add on t-your other goodies and you should be able to take him easily. not to mention your turbo will spool somewhere around 2500 rpm :)
