1987 7mge swapped to 1988 7mgte no spark no fuel

Not uncommon is right. It's been the law for a long time there be some sort of fuel interlock. OEMs just do it in different ways.

1987 7mge swapped to 1988 7mgte no spark no fuel

If you really think the pump isn't running you could always jumper it on using the diag block. B+ to FP. The next step would be to check fuel pressure. A half assed way to do that is look at the top of the damper and see if the screw is standing proud. That won't check flow though. Codes can...

    running condenser fans

"Quick, do I cut the blue wire or the red wire" ;) Good job Chip. Easier to read: http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TEWD/MK3/manual.aspx?S=Main&P=144 Edit for the OP: Connect the yellow wire coming from the relay to the LB/Red. The yellow wire in the harness gets insulated and is no...

How do you make headlights "wink"

^ It won't work nor should it. That said what the OP wants to do is simple enough. Why he'd want to do it is probably not...

1987 7mge swapped to 1988 7mgte no spark no fuel

Well, you have now (seen a fuel system that doesn't prime with the key). And a scanner? Sounds like a case of you needing to RTFM...

    running condenser fans

^ That'd work. Or he could cut one wire at the relay and connect it to another wire, also right at the relay. That way the fans would run as they do with the key on and then shut down automatically when coolant temperature drops. Ran my car like that for over 20 years...

    90 Turbo won't start

OP: Although it's possible to get 14 from a faulty CPS due to the way error codes are processed it's far more likely to be what Nick said: loss of IGf. That said I can thoroughly test your ECU should you desire to have it done. I seriously doubt it's your problem however.

    No start (spark?)...

More like the charge of the head. Remember, a waste spark system doesn't fire with the same polarity on each plug. Now quit asking and find out elsewhere. The OP's thread has been jacked enough :)

    No start (spark?)...

Lol at Jon... Kenny: The plug will not fire outside of said head. ts: It' all good. Stick around. You have to remember a lot of stuff gets posted that needs to be corrected and even the best here sometimes get it wrong. Besides, it's just the internet. Nothing to get worked up about...

Sitting anywhere you'd like. Not connected to anything but the spark plug wire. I caved? Damn. Don't remember that. Guess I'll have to find a new question :)

My fuel milage woes, faulty o2 sensor?

3p is right. You need to start checking this stuff it you want to get anywhere. Btw who is that in your avatar? Lol, not a huge fan of anime but she's starting to make my diaper damp...

My fuel milage woes, faulty o2 sensor?

Are you *still* messing around with this? :) Sounds like you're measuring the heater and that will change with temperature. You can't measure the resistance of the Nernst Cell. In fact it can be a bad thing to do. Sounds like it's busted though...

    No start (spark?)...

Forgive me if this has already been asked but does the tach flicker when it's cranked? Do you hear the injectors? Do you have 12 volts on the coil packs? Did you fix the ground wire? You can always remove the CPS and spin it by hand while trying to figure this out. Save wear and tear on the...

    Coolant leak from drain plug?

    No start (spark?)...

Kenny: I'll never tell. Lets just say it has more to do with real physics than basic electricity. I'm a bit puzzled by post #28. First he's saying it's OK to get rid of other grounding or maybe that was sarcasm. But then he argues how missing the plate ground will prevent spark (that's what...

    No start (spark?)...

Just kidding buddy. And yes, there is a flyback effect in the primary when de-energized. About 350 volts. Don't get me started about spark finding "ground". The fact is you could put each plug of a pair (in a waste spark system) into two different heads without any connection between them...

    No start (spark?)...

Shut up Kenny ;) I never said the drain should be left off. The question was whether a missing one will cause a no spark/no start condition. It will not. Period. Sigh. I could have just left it at him being half right. Next time I'll simply correct any error for the benefit of the...
