Yes, I meant tech support. What if you need parts? When it breaks are you willing to put it back on the slow boat? Or just toss it?
DSO1200 is 200 mhz. It'll do fine. The DSO8060 would be my next choice with the DSO1060 coming in last...
Dealextreme huh? I thought those guys went out of business.
I had mentioned lower bandwidth in the previous post but took it out because it limits doing serious electronics work. OK for car use and as a starter scope though.
I looked at Hanteks a few years ago but they were lacking in...
No, not without an adapter or attenuating the signal way down. It won't display typical scope patterns or DLI properly either. No big deal though. Secondary analysis isn't used much these days and takes a fair amount of expertise to interpret. For cars just get a smallish DSO or even an older...
So you're not using the stock ECU and whatever you are running isn't in closed loop? If that's the case your goal is as near a stoich feed gas as possible into a healthy catalyst. Do that and it'll pass.
The first test was very rich, at least at 2500 rpm. The idle portion doesn't make sense. Sure those numbers are correct? And why is the idle so high?
The second test is very lean. Whatever you're doing to make that happen stop doing it and get the engine back into fuel control because it'll...
Yep, before you were born everyone drove Flintstones cars powered by their feet. :icon_razz
If you think this car is sophisticated try learning the newest ones. I know almost as much about my Infiniti G as I do the Supra but it took some effort.
This stuff has been answered but I'll go over it again.
1) The system is effective. Knock is sensed at three levels, not simply a matter of knock versus no knock. On-the-fly feedback that reduces/advances timing in stages depending on the level of knock sensed and the max retard angle of 10...
What Nick and hvyman said. And don't be setting timing with a code 51 until you know what's causing it or you could make things worse. You'd think a friend who owns supras would know that but apparently not...
I would first focus on the harness, especially where Cy said. That area has been known to cause problems and although it usually involves ECU power the ignition switch return from AM2 also runs through the engine harness on its way to powering the ignition and injectors.
Hey, stuff happens. I suppose it could be the injector resistor or injection noise filter too. Those are also off IG2. More likely a harness problem though.
Yes, as I've said many times the TPS needs to be working when in Fail Safe for a 31 and STA is used for starting. Hence the "TPS/STA" thing the OP mentioned. Actually, iirc, STA is always used to emulate Ks during a start whether the AFM is working or not because airflow is too low at cranking...
