Cure for understeer- trailbraking. :D
MK4 wheels you've probably got much wider tires on the rear though, wich is going to induce massive understeer in any conditions on a MK3. :( If it is too intolerable, unbolt the front sway bar end links.
Mike is no longer there and he is the one who was keeping up with Supramania. That is probably why thier section was taken down.
They are very visible in the mk4 sections on Supraforums, just like alot of other mk4 only vendors, ho-hum.
I'm pretty sure NASCAR teams know how to hook up an MSD properly, even if they are rednecks. :icon_razz
I'm not trying to judge what you are doing bigaaron, sorry if any of my posts came off like that. Modifying your car is all about making it how you want it to be.
A local friend of mine had a mk4TT and then got a mk3T to go with it. He liked it alot but would up selling the mk3 because he was modding it more than his mk4.
I didn't mention MSD simply because I haven't been too impressed with thier products. They aren't as powerful as other CD ignitions, at least in practice and the MSD products I've owned and seen in service aren't reliable (notice NASCAR teams have a spare MSD on thier cars and they only need 500...
Only if you want to fire three of them at once (no). I believe you'll have to pony back up to the Motec bar for an "ignition expander" unless you want to use a distributor. :aigo:
Yes, that is exactly what I'm thinking your problem is.
CDI is AEMs brand name of ignition amplifier and DLI is the HKS version. The AEM one has apparently been recalled now so that option is off the table for a little while. Basically, they use capacitors to increase the charge rate of the...
I don't think you've got enough dwell time for those JZ coils. MK4 guys have plenty of trouble trying to run wastefire with thier COPs. The 7MGTE coils are higher output than the MK4 (since they were designed for wastefire and 1/2 the dwell time) ones and don't need the longer dwell. You could...
Reality check:
Maybe you should get a nice mk3, it sounds like yours is falling apart. You'd pay a huge premium for a nice mk4 that doesn't need the same ammount of work your mk3 does.
I kinda doubt it. Most likely a deposit from the fuel you are using. On my old WRX, the entire turbine wheel was white. The A:F dipped off the chart rich when I dynoed it. Dyno or wideband if you want to know what your A:F is.
Yep, -10 braided from the tank to the engine compartment, split to two -6 lines feeding both ends of the rail and a single -6 return from the center of the rail.
The pump is an Aeromotive marine unit and the filters are Aeromotive 100 micron pre-pump and 10 micron post -10 filters.
The...
Car is running now on 1/2 C16 race gas mixed with 1/2 93 pump gas. As soon as I get a minor issue sorted out with the EMS, I can run pump gas or race when the situation merits it.
Here is an installed photo:
Actually, I was planning on using both as feeds since the suction side of the system needs to be very free flowing. I got in a hurry putting everything together though and I just blocked one off. The return is a -6 bulkhead fitting in the stock pump hanger, on top of the tank.
Last I checked, Duane has a sumped stock tank. There used to be some pictures up on the CFX website. Here are a few pics of mine, similar to Duane's (lots less pretty though).
