Hmm, what has more to cause that effect though, the lower tire pressure, or the heating of the tires? Just curious, I don't get to play at tracks very often. :(
Anyone care?
At the same time I'm a little disappointed (I was really looking forward to the 16X development!), some of the new 4 cylinder designs they've been working on have me pretty excited too. Direct injection on a lighter next generation Miata? Yes please.
EDIT: Here's the Jalopnik post...
I'd be leaning toward the ISCV sticking then. Tends to do that when it's warmed up a bit... do a bit of searching and you'll find the various fixes for that problem.
Aww... no love for the 7m. :nono:
Personally, for that kind of money, I'd be talking to Suprarich on here, SIP Performance I believe, is the name of his company? Correct me if I'm wrong...
If all you're wanting is 400hp at the flywheel, do a little headwork and call it a day. My mods are in my sig, and I dyno'd 320rwhp on 12psi on stock twins. For a single to make that kind of power, it would be beyond easy. Plus, there's always ball bearing turbos if you're looking for stupidly...
Quite a bit actually... I'm on 275/40/17 all around, and I believe I calculated it out once either just shy of, or just over, 200mph with the R154/3.73 and 1jz combo. No way my car would do it, but I'd be impressed with 170 or so.
Yes. :p
Why would we sell to people who actually know the approximate value of something, when we could be raking in money hand over fist selling to people who are clueless? I mean, I probably could have gotten $500 for my old stock CT26 had I sold it to a DSM or Civic guy! :D
Ahh... funny. Just how the hell do you even put that much money into an engine anyway? I'd be surprised if 100k didn't put you into F1 engine territory...
^Did you have a tiger jump on the thing? Sheesh...
On the original subject, do you plan on keeping AC with this setup? Was thinking it over last night, and kinda ran into that snag. I don't NEED AC, but it's nice to have for the roadtrips down south...
The likely culprit in my experience with the 1j is that you might have a sticking ISCV. Sucks that the 1j unit isn't able to be disassembled like the 7m (point to you 7m...), and they are quite costly to replace. Does holding in the throttle after the car has warmed up a bit help keep it from dying?
Haha, I joke Stretch... but on a serious note, what is with the cat?
I kinda wish America would get off it's high horse of idiocy and switch to the metric system all around. I hate that we "halfway" use it. On some things, SAE standard, on others, metric. Sucks like no other trying to work on...
^Beautiful car, gotta say... wheels aren't half bad looking either. Long as the sizes and offsets are right for your car, and the price is to your liking, I'd jump on them.
I keep hoping to come across a Ferarri (there are a few around here, just RARELY driven, they're garage rotters) at a light so I can ask, "nice car, what's the retail on one of those?" for the laughs. :)
