    7mge quarks...

I used to have flex-a-lite's on my car, and went back to stock. Do E fans work well? Yes. Better than stock? No. Did i get more power with E fans? No. Did i occasionally have a weak battery from the E fans running after shutdown? Yes. Did i overheat twice from failed E fan relays? Yes.

    timing wont set at 10btdc?

0vac at idle? 1. Verify that you have the CAM timing correct. This will affect everything. 2. Verify your#1 cylinder is at tdc, by removing the #1 spark plug, and placing something like a chopstick in there. Rotate the motor by turning the crank clockwise with a 19mm socket until your...

ma-70 carbon fiber twill weave & plain weave parts.

Glad to hear about the progress on the spoiler. I would still like to see a bolt-in replacement for the front lip(89+). Something that is only slightly larger than oem(if at all), but has a foreward jutting edge.

    Project Git 'er done!: Stages 1, 2, 3, 4....Stage 5- Reassembly after 13 years!!!

Yup, but there's no distortion to the inner surface, or the plane of the mounting face. And thus, no affect(wobble) on the plane of rotation of the belt face.

This is the damage to the cam gears, though it doesnt seem to affect them adjustment-wise:

typical machine shop bill for head surface and valve job?

That price sounds pretty much impossible. If they actually used oem valves, springs, & retainers, then the parts cost alone would exceed that total price. I would expect to pay at least $320 for just the machine work.

    7mgte no Thermostat Safe?

Good call. Most folks recommend either a failsafe tstat, which fails open, Or the oem, as it is more accurate.

typical machine shop bill for head surface and valve job?

Not a bad price, but i would set up my own valve lash, not that a hundred is out of line for the effort.

    Project Git 'er done!: Stages 1, 2, 3, 4....Stage 5- Reassembly after 13 years!!!

Lol. Apparently, i was doing something wrong. Too mush polishing reduces efficiency. Anyway, as luck would have it, the cam gear seller emailed me, saying that he was out of stock on the silver cam gears, and issued me a refund, so turns out no $$ wasted after all.

    Project Git 'er done!: Stages 1, 2, 3, 4....Stage 5- Reassembly after 13 years!!!

Ps- thanks GP. I appreciate it. Some sorta good news/bad news. The replacement of the backplate bolts with some buttonhead screws did indeed solve the clearance issue with the AEM cam gears. Also, after taking apart the damaged gears, i found that the two depressions on each gear actually fell...
