The head? Not much.
Maybe 3hrs porting/ polishing.
Just spent about 2hrs cleaning the valves, rough-lapping them, then fine-lapping them into the seats.
I'm about to clean the head and begin assembly.
LOL.
I think I'm getting too OCD about polishing this stupid head...
The ports aren't perfect all the way throughout, but I realize that IF I really wanted perfection, I'd have to polish the intake manifold and runners as well, and frankly, I don't have that kind of motivation.
Aha.
I just googled a few pics, and realized that the original MkI Supra had one of these.
As for the particulars on the rear wing, I pretty much agree with Absolute Speed:
3rd brake light- either way is fine
Design- One piece. It shouldn't extend out to the sides as far as a whale...
Sounds like the crap that they're tapping and drilling are some 12x1.5 lug nuts and making them into 12x1.75 nuts, so that they can be used to reach down thru the mount points on the aluminum mount plate and the lower plate, to fully engage the threading on the mount itself. Looks like your pic...
Lets just keep it simple and say that if you pu a 1/2 qt extra in the motor, you'll find the oil level is just above the full mark on the dipstick. This is all really just a precaution against starving the oil pickup tube during hard cornering or acceleration.
Quarks?
Lol. For quirks, there's not too many, just a couple of strong suggestions.
Retorque your head gasket to ~72 ft-lbs.
Run a 1/2 qt extra oil, and always check oil level at the beginning of the day.
Keep your coolant system in top condition/ topped off, and use only toyota red coolant...
Hmm.
I cant say as to how the rack feels yet of course, but i had no leaks, no peeling paint, and no overspray issues.
Hopefully, it'll work properly as well.
Very excited to hear about this.
I think the wing is a novel idea, because it is not simply a reproduction of an oem part, but rather it would be YOUR wing, your design. Instead of making a Regulus repro nose panel, you would be producing a Carbonworks spoiler.
Also, i'd still love to see a...
You might definitely be running lean then. Which means you could be just one WOT away from a melted set of pistons.
I would richen it up in the meantime, and get my ass to a dyno shop, or install a wideband already.
