Running warm after beating on it at the track the other day

Do you have the stock shroud that goes under the front lip that bolts to the crossmember? If not, might look into putting one back on there. ;) Another thing, I would question how old the fan clutch is. When I bought the Mk2, I suspected the fan clutch was bad (was going through the cooling...

You know you're a Supra owner when...

You know, DSM owners have that too. :p Two years after the fact, every little exhaust leak or odd sound, makes me worry subconsciously... You might be a Supra owner if you have more parts/wheels/tires than cars to put them on.

    trouble getting into reverse

Could you elaborate on this technique? If I slip into reverse quickly, usually the worst I get is a little 'notch' sound, but I'm curious how you do it without grinding without shifting into a different gear first...

Anyone seen this color MK3 before?

Definitely hard to read, any chance you can clean it up a bit? The engraving isn't all that deep on them, and enough dust tends to make them too hard to read... Edit: Is there any other indication of color code? What about in the door jambs? I thought there was a plate in there too...

    New paint and ccw pics

High praise there haha... Your car gives me great hope for a preview of sorts, of how mine looks in my head (not to mention in a pile of parts a lot like yours). :)

    Racing style door panels?

If you're going for lightweight, why not just drop the door panel all together? Car will likely drone a bit more as a result though...

    Hp and MPG?

Another thing to consider is the rear diff ratio. If you have a higher numerically gear, driving in town will generally return better mileage, however, as a result, highway MPG can drop. I've consistently gotten anywhere from 19-27mpg depending on the car and engine that was in the car at the time.

BAD DAY! MY 1JZ MKIII was stolen and wrecked today!

A lot of good points in that post, but I just want to touch on this one... Why would anyone feel ANY empathy for someone who stole their car? I get that 'crazy guy' twitch in my eye whenever I see someone park a bit too close, or ride their bike a little too close. Good luck with the court...

    My Car vs Audi R8

Power be damned, if my car simply drones and drones at ONE engine speed... that would drive me nuts on a car with such a symphony to come out of the pipes as you run through the gears...

    New power!!!! 404HP 405ft lbs @ the wheels CT26 on 17.5lbs

True. My definition is "could someone who's old enough to appreciate the comfort enough to NEED it, use the car as a daily driver?" If the car is completely gutted, hard riding, noisy, and hot, it's probably fine for a younger driver, but once you get older, you start to appreciate how...

So what's it feel like to be in the wake of an RR Titanic? :p

    Guy on a buffalo

I would assume that's some awesome taxidermy, but how do you get that thing around your house??? More importantly, IF that is a live buffalo, how strong are that guy's floors?! I've seen buffalo up close, they're HUGE.

    1JZ-GTE VVT-i JZX100 vs. 1JZ-GTE JZA70 Engine Differences

Back when I was shopping for JZ's, this was a pretty common price for a manual and VVTI engine, so if it's in decent/good shape, I'd say that's a fair price. Edit: Fair price assumes this comes with complete harness, ecu, PS, alternator, starter, manifolds, etc...

    Compression Numbers

You ever turn an engine over by hand? I seem to remember hearing air leaking out of the engine when doing that a while back. Wouldn't surprise me if you can't get proper compression numbers without the starter doing the hard work for you, but like was suggested, a leakdown is probably the best...

Running driftmotion single turbo kit stock ecu?

Give Aaron a call as for expected power levels. I wouldn't be surprised to see 350-400whp on mild boost levels. If you value the work put into your engine though, try to resist the urge to crank up the boost until your car is tuned properly. ;)

You know you're a Supra owner when...

These cars have me paranoid of ALL cars blowing head gaskets and getting rods-a-knocking. :nono:

Ticking sound when driving (not engine)

When you do find out what it is, be sure to update us. Nobody likes searching through dead end threads without a resolution. ;)

Anyone seen this color MK3 before?

Japan's Supras never had a 7M-GE Jeff? I was unaware of that. Not the first time I've seen something like that though, I think there was a similar thing with the FC Rx7's, but I can't remember specifically what it was.

    Import/export of a mk3

Question, does this only apply to cars that were registered IN the UK before that date, or cars registered anywhere before then? For example, if one were to take a 1990 Mk3 to the UK, pass tech, would they be exempted from the cat requirement?

    trouble getting into reverse

Just means you're not used to the R154 transmission. It's a simple fix sir: before shifting into reverse, shift into any other gear, THEN slide into reverse. Shouldn't grind at all if you do it quickly enough. Doesn't have to be super-quick, but an R154 grinding into reverse without doing the...
